An adjustable elbow for 40x40 mm railing profile whose angle can be set on site. Satin AISI 304. It is the only adjustable elbow for square profile in the Strofix range – the fixed 90° version is in the adjacent section.

About adjustable profile elbows
An adjustable elbow lets the angle between two 40x40 mm profile sections be set during installation rather than fixed on the drawing.
1. When it is needed
On stairs – there the angle follows the real flight pitch, which on site is almost always a degree or two different from the design.
And on irregular terrace plans, where corners are not 90° and the exact angle can only be measured in place.
2. The trade-off against fixed
An adjustable joint costs more and is always slightly less rigid than a fixed 90° elbow, because it contains a moving part.
If the angle is known and it is 90°, the fixed elbow is the better choice on both price and appearance.
3. Installation
Set the angle before final tightening and check it along the whole run, not at one point.
Re-check the joint after the first season – adjustable joints are the one place in a balustrade that can work loose without a visible cause.
