A complete railing post is an assembled unit: the post, the glass clamps and the handrail connection in one product rather than ten separate parts.

The practical difference is not price but specification risk – with a complete post it is not possible to forget a clamp or order an incompatible holder.

These are the round Ø42.4 mm posts with glass clamps, which grip the glass at its edge. Square 40x40 mm posts have their own series.

The range covers versions for flat floors and for stairs, all with a round Ø42.4 mm handrail, in AISI 304 and AISI 316.

The choice depends on whether the balustrade runs on a flat floor or a stair, and on the steel grade.

How to choose a round post with glass clamps

1. Flat floor or stairs

On a flat-floor post the clamps are horizontal and the handrail connection is at 90°.

On a stair post the clamps and handrail connection are set for the pitch. A stair version cannot be used on a flat floor, and vice versa.

2. Glass clamps or point fixings

Glass clamps grip the edge of the glass, so no holes are drilled – cheaper, and the glass can be replaced later.

Point fixings pass through a hole in the glass and give a more minimal, cleaner look, but the holes must be ordered at the glass factory.

3. Steel grade: AISI 304 or AISI 316

AISI 304 suits interiors and normal outdoor exposure.

AISI 316 resists chlorides better and is the right choice on the coast, around pools and on balconies where de-icing salt is used. In this series both grades are available for every version.

4. What is not included

Glass, handrail sections and base fixings are ordered separately.

Before ordering, check the glass thickness the clamp accepts and agree it with your glass supplier – glass is the longest lead time in the whole project.
