This section splits the square crossbar posts by handrail shape: these are the ones whose top is prepared for a square handrail.

The post itself is the same as in the adjacent section – only the handrail connection at the top differs.

A square post with a square handrail gives a straight, unbroken silhouette in which the infill rods are the only round element.

The range covers left and right end posts, a corner post and stair versions, in AISI 304 and AISI 316.

The choice depends on where the post sits in the run and whether the balustrade climbs a stair.

How to choose

1. End, corner or stair post

End posts come in left and right versions – the choice depends on which side the run continues. They cannot be swapped.

The corner post is for where two runs meet at an angle. On the stair version the rod holders are set for the flight pitch.

2. Square or round handrail

The square handrail continues the post geometry; the round Ø42.4 mm is easier to grip and the more common choice for stairs.

The post top is prepared for a specific profile, so decide the handrail shape before ordering.

3. What to order separately

Ø12 mm rods, handrail sections, rod end caps and base fixings are not included.

Choose handrail elements – connectors, elbows, end caps – from the square 40x40 mm series.

4. Steel grade

AISI 304 suits interiors and normal outdoor exposure; AISI 316 suits the coast, pools and places with winter salt.

A crossbar system has many small, tightly mating parts; outdoors, AISI 316 is worth considering for the whole system.
