About front glass clamps

A front glass clamp holds the glass from its face. The back plate is fixed to the post or wall behind the glass, the front plate presses the panel against it through rubber inlays, and the glass runs in front of the posts or the wall. The glass does not need to be drilled.

Standard glass clamps work the other way round: they hold the panel edge beside the post, so the glass sits between the posts.

Strofix supplies nine front glass clamps in two families: round Ø60 mm clamps in AISI 304 and square 60 × 60 mm clamps in AISI 316 (the flat end clamp is 60 × 50 mm), plus a 60 × 60 mm lateral fixing clamp in AISI 304 or AISI 316. They take glass from 6 to 12.76 mm, depending on the model, and all have a satin finish.

The right clamp depends on its position in the railing and on what it is fixed to: a flat surface or a Ø42.4 mm round tube.

How to choose a front glass clamp

1. Position: middle, end or lateral

Middle clamps – the round “Middle” and the square “180°” – hold the edges of two adjacent panels where they meet, keeping both in one line.

End clamps – the round “Ending” and the square “final” – hold the last panel edge at the end of a run or at a corner.

The lateral fixing clamp holds a panel from the side, typically at a wall return or where the glass meets a perpendicular structure.

Mark every clamp position on the railing layout before ordering.

2. Mounting surface: flat or Ø42.4 mm tube

Middle and end clamps come with a flat back for walls, slab edges and square posts, or with a curved back for Ø42.4 mm round tube. The lateral fixing clamp is for flat surfaces.

Match the back profile to the post or structure at each position.

3. Steel grade: AISI 304 or AISI 316

Round Ø60 mm clamps are AISI 304, suitable for interiors and typical outdoor installations. Square 60 × 60 mm clamps are made in AISI 316, and the lateral fixing clamp comes in either grade.

Choose AISI 316 near the sea, around outdoor pools or where de-icing salt is used. Indoor swimming pools are a special case – ask us before ordering.
