Stainless steel end caps for 40x40 mm railing posts and profiles. Flat 2 mm caps with or without an M8 thread, and weld-in 4 mm caps with a Ø8, Ø12 or Ø16 mm hole for passing a rod or handrail support through. Filter by cap type, hole and finish.
An end cap closes the open end of a 40x40 mm railing post or profile so that water and dirt cannot get inside.
An open post end outdoors is a direct route for water into the profile; in winter it freezes and can split a weld or deform the section.
Strofix supplies two types for profiles. Flat 2 mm caps sit on the end and form the visible finish, while weld-in 4 mm caps are welded into the end of the profile.
Weld-in caps come with a Ø8, Ø12 or Ø16 mm hole for passing a rod, handrail support or cable element through the end. The flat cap is also available with an M8 thread.
The choice depends on whether the end will be welded, whether something has to pass through it, and the finish required.
The weld-in 4 mm cap is welded into the end of the profile and disappears once the weld is dressed. This is the route for balustrades fabricated in a workshop.
The flat 2 mm cap sits on a finished end. It is quicker on site and does not change the length of the profile.
If a rod or handrail support has to pass through the post end, choose the weld-in cap with the matching hole.
Ø8 mm suits an M8 bolt and thinner rods, Ø12 mm suits a standard Ø12 mm crossbar rod, and Ø16 mm suits thicker elements and pass-through connections.
The flat cap with an M8 thread lets you bolt a handrail support or another element to the post end without extra drilling.
If the end stays free, a cap without a thread is enough.
Flat caps are available in AISI 304 and AISI 316 with a satin surface that matches the rest of the railing hardware.
Weld-in caps are supplied raw – they are finished after welding together with the seam, so a factory finish is not needed.
