These are the elements for the 40x40 mm square slot handrail. The round Ø42.4 mm handrail has its own separate series.
Square elements have one practical quirk the round ones do not: they have orientation. Square profile enters the element in one position only, so cutting has to be planned outwards from the element.
The range covers an end cap, a straight connector, two wall fixings – axial and a mounting flange – a horizontal and a vertical 90° elbow, and adjustable elbows in upper and bottom versions.
All are satin; some are also available in AISI 316.
The choice starts from how the line actually runs – where it ends, where it turns in plan, where in elevation, and where it meets a wall.
The end cap closes the handrail end; you need one for every free end.
The straight connector joins two handrails in line. On square profile the joint is more visible than on round, so plan it away from eye level and not at mid-span.
The horizontal 90° elbow turns the handrail in plan, the vertical one in elevation. They are two different parts.
On square handrail a turn reads more strongly than on round, so check both sections lie in one plane – a small offset in square profile shows immediately.
The adjustable elbow comes in upper and bottom versions. A stair flight normally needs both.
They are not interchangeable, so check the order before installation day.
The axial fastening fixes the handrail end to a wall end-on – no end cap is needed there.
The mounting flange fixes the handrail from the side or to a floor. The choice depends on whether the handrail end runs into the wall or past it.
The gasket is a separate product and is chosen by glass thickness. The same gasket suits both square and round handrails.
