About railing connectors

A connector joins two or more railing sections – in line, in a T-branch, at a corner or at a crossing. It does not change direction; an elbow does that.

A straight connector extends a run where one tube is not long enough, or where the structure has to be split into transportable pieces.

The Strofix range has four shapes: straight, T, corner and cross, each for Ø42.4 mm tube or 40x40 mm profile.

The cross connector is also available as a weld-on version for cases where the joint must be completely invisible.

The choice depends on the profile, how many sections meet at one point, and whether the connector stays visible.

How to choose a railing connector

1. Profile: Ø42.4 mm tube or 40x40 mm

The internal profile of the connector is matched to either tube or square section, so this is the first thing to establish.

The tube range is wider – it also includes the cross and the weld-on cross connector.

2. Shape: straight, T, corner or cross

The straight connector extends a run in line.

The T connector brings in a third section at right angles – a partition or a branch. The corner connector joins two sections at an angle.

The cross connector joins four sections at one point; it is used in grid structures and where a crossbar meets a vertical element.

3. Weld-on or push-fit

A push-fit connector goes on without welding – faster on site, and the structure can be taken apart later.

The weld-on cross connector is welded in and becomes invisible once the seam is dressed. Choose it when the joint must not be seen.

4. Steel grade and finish

The range is mainly AISI 304 in satin; the straight tube connector is also available in AISI 316 and in polished.

Choose AISI 316 on the coast, around pools, and where de-icing salt is used in winter.
