Stainless steel covers that conceal the base plate, anchor bolts and drilled edge of a 40x40 mm railing post. Suit base plates up to 90x90 mm, 17 mm high, available in AISI 304, AISI 316 and S235. Filter by steel grade and finish.
A base cover is a square sleeve that slides down a 40x40 mm railing post and sits over the base, concealing the base plate, the anchor bolts and the edge of the drilled hole.
Its job is both visual and practical – the balustrade looks finished at floor level, and the bolt heads stop collecting dirt and water.
Strofix covers for profiles fit a 40x40 mm post and conceal base plates up to 90x90 mm. Cover height is 17 mm.
The range has three versions – satin AISI 304/316, polished AISI 304, and raw S235 carbon steel for structures that will be painted.
The choice depends on the rest of the balustrade finish and on whether the structure will be coated.
The internal opening is 40x40 mm, so the cover fits only that post size.
The outer footprint conceals base plates up to 90x90 mm. A larger base plate will not be fully covered.
AISI 304 suits interiors and normal outdoor exposure. AISI 316 resists chlorides better and is the correct choice on the coast, around pools and where de-icing salt is used.
S235 is untreated carbon steel. Choose it only when the whole structure will be welded and then painted or galvanised – raw S235 will rust outdoors without a coating.
Satin is matt and matches standard railing hardware.
Polished is a mirror finish and suits assemblies where the post and handrail are polished too. The raw surface is a base for painting.
If the post is welded directly to the structure or cast into concrete, there is no visible base plate and no cover is needed.
Order the cover together with the base rather than later – it slides onto the post from above and cannot be fitted once the handrail is welded on.
