About square posts with glass clamps

A complete square post is an assembled unit: the 40x40 mm post, the glass clamps and the handrail connection in one product.

Square profile gives straight lines and sharp arrises; round Ø42.4 mm is softer and more classic. That is an appearance choice, not a technical one – both solve the same problem.

In this series the post is always square, but the handrail can be either square or round, and that is a separate choice.

The range covers versions for flat floors and for stairs, in AISI 304 and AISI 316.

The choice depends on handrail shape, whether the balustrade runs on stairs, and the steel grade.

How to choose a square post with glass clamps

1. Handrail shape: square 40x40 or round Ø42.4

The post top is prepared for a specific handrail, so make this choice before ordering, not after.

A square post with a square handrail gives one continuous, minimal line. A square post with a round handrail is easier on the hand – a common choice for stairs.

2. Flat floor or stairs

On a stair post the clamps and handrail connection are set for the pitch; on a flat-floor post they are at 90°.

A transition from stair to landing needs both types – count them by flight, not by piece.

3. Glass clamps or point fixings

Clamps grip the edge of the glass, so no holes are drilled – cheaper and easier to replace.

Point fixings pass through a hole and look more minimal, but the holes must be ordered at the glass factory. They have their own post series.

4. Steel grade

AISI 304 suits interiors and normal outdoor exposure; AISI 316 suits the coast, pools and balconies with winter salt.

In this series both grades are available for every version, so grade can be chosen independently of the other decisions.
