About posts for a 40x40 mm handrail

This section splits the square glass-clamp posts by handrail shape: these are the ones prepared for a square 40x40 mm handrail.

Glass clamps grip the edge of the glass, so no holes are drilled. That is cheaper and faster, and it lets the glass be replaced later if it cracks.

The range covers both flat-floor and stair versions – unlike the point-fixing series, where no stair version exists.

All are in AISI 304 and AISI 316, satin finish.

The choice depends on whether the balustrade runs on a flat floor or a stair, and on the steel grade.

How to choose

1. Square handrail on a square post

This combination gives one continuous line with no change of shape at the top – the structure reads as a single element rather than two.

If the handrail will be round, use the adjacent section; the post top is prepared for a specific profile and cannot be changed after ordering.

2. Flat floor or stairs

On a stair post the clamps and handrail connection are set for the pitch.

A transition from stair to landing needs both types. Count them by flight – an error here means one post is left unassembled on site.

3. Clamps or point fixings

Clamps are the more flexible choice: the glass can be ordered without holes and replaced later.

Point fixings look more minimal but need holes, which must be ordered at the glass factory.

4. Steel grade

AISI 304 suits interiors and normal outdoor exposure; AISI 316 suits the coast, pools and balconies with winter salt.

In this series both grades are available for every version.

5. What to order separately

Glass, handrail sections, handrail elements and base fixings are not included.

Choose handrail elements from the square 40x40 mm series, and agree the glass thickness against the clamp's accepted range before the glass is ordered.
