Stainless steel base covers for Ø42.4 mm railing posts, concealing the base plate and anchor bolts. Three outer diameters – Ø85, Ø95 and Ø105 mm – from 17 to 25 mm high, including a two-part version that fits after the post is installed. Filter by diameter, height and finish.
A base cover for pipe is a round sleeve that slides onto a Ø42.4 mm railing post and conceals the base plate together with its anchor bolts.
Without one, the plate, the bolt heads and the drilled edge stay visible – the places where water and dirt collect and where corrosion marks usually start.
Strofix offers three outer diameters – Ø85, Ø95 and Ø105 mm – so the cover matches the base plate in use. Height is 17, 18 or 25 mm.
The range also includes a two-part Ø105 mm cover in AISI 316, made of two halves, which fits a post that is already installed.
The choice depends on base plate diameter, the height required, whether the post is already in place, and the steel grade.
The outer diameter of the cover must be at least as large as the base plate, otherwise the edge of the plate stays visible.
Measure the base before ordering. Ø105 mm is the largest in the range and also covers wider plates with outboard anchor bolts.
The height must exceed the thickness of the base plate plus the bolt heads, or the cover will not seat fully.
18 mm is the standard height for most plates. The 25 mm version suits thicker bases or taller bolt heads; 17 mm suits the lowest plates.
A one-piece cover has to be slid onto the post before it is installed, or before the handrail is welded on.
The two-part Ø105 mm version consists of two halves and is fitted around a post that is already standing. Choose it for refurbishments, or when the cover was forgotten at the time of ordering.
AISI 304 suits interiors and normal outdoor exposure.
AISI 316 resists chlorides better and is more suitable for coastal sites, pool surrounds and places where salt is used in winter. The two-part version in this range is AISI 316.
Satin is matt and unobtrusive, and is consistent with most railing hardware.
Polished is a mirror finish and suits assemblies where the post and end caps are polished too.
