Where is a Y connector used?
Where a rail branches into two directions, or where three tubes meet at one point at angles other than a square T. One fitting joins all three arms, so the branch stays compact.

Y, T or X – what is the difference?
A Y connector joins three tubes at angles other than 90°. For a branch at 90° off a straight run, use a T-type connector. For two tubes crossing, use an X-type connector.
