About Wall-Mounted Handrail Supports

A wall-mounted handrail support is a stainless-steel bracket that fixes a handrail directly to a wall surface, creating a standalone grab rail along a corridor, staircase or ramp without the need for railing posts.

The bracket projects from the wall at a set distance and holds the handrail at the top, transferring grip loads back into the masonry or concrete substrate.

The correct wall bracket depends on handrail profile (flat or Ø42.4 mm round), whether a fixed or adjustable angle is needed, and the connection method.

How to choose a wall-mounted handrail support

1. Handrail profile: flat or Ø42.4 mm round pipe

Some wall brackets have a saddle or socket profiled for Ø42.4 mm round-pipe handrails, while others have a flat top plate designed for flat-sided or applied handrails.

The bracket top must match the underside of the handrail — a round-pipe bracket will not hold a flat rail securely and vice versa.

2. Angle: fixed or adjustable

Fixed brackets hold the handrail at a set angle — typically perpendicular to the wall — and are used on level runs.

Adjustable brackets allow the handrail angle to be set on site, accommodating stair pitches and non-standard gradients.

Choose adjustable variants for staircase installations where the handrail must follow an incline.

3. Bracket type: support, fastening, holder or fitting

Wall-and-bottom fastenings provide a compact, close-to-wall fixing.

Handrail supports with a D50 wall plate project further from the wall and provide a more robust connection.

Handrail holders are mid-range brackets suited to standard corridor and staircase runs.

The 90° handrail fitting is a small screwable connector for lightweight rail junctions.

Welding handrail holders are permanently fused to the rail for a seamless joint.

4. Finish: satin or polished

Satin is the standard finish across 17 of 18 products — it conceals fingerprints and micro-scratches.

Polished variants are available on four products for a brighter, mirror-like appearance in contemporary interiors.

Finish is an aesthetic choice and does not affect structural performance.

5. Steel grade: AISI 304 or AISI 316

All 18 products are available in AISI 304, suitable for interior and typical exterior wall-mounted handrails.

AISI 316 is available on two variants for coastal, pool and high-humidity environments where higher chloride resistance is required.
