A glass clamp for pipe is a stainless-steel bracket with a curved back profiled to sit flush against a round post, gripping a glass panel along its edge without requiring a drilled hole.
The curved saddle wraps around the tube circumference, and the front half clamps the glass with rubber inserts that cushion the contact and accommodate the panel thickness.
Strofix supplies pipe-mount glass clamps in eight body variants — from compact 45×45 mm and 40×50 mm bodies to larger 52×52 mm, 55×67 mm and 45×63 mm bodies with glass-edge overhangs up to 18 mm — profiled for Ø42.4 mm and Ø48.3 mm round pipe, in AISI 304 or AISI 316 stainless steel with satin or polished finishes.
Most variants include an integrated glass support shelf; one compact variant is supplied without a supporter.
The correct clamp depends on body size, pipe diameter, steel grade and whether a built-in glass support is needed.
The curved back of the clamp is profiled for a specific pipe outside diameter.
Most Strofix variants fit both Ø42.4 and Ø48.3 mm tubes; selected larger-body variants (D and E) are profiled for Ø42.4 only.
Confirm the outside diameter of the post or railing tube before ordering — a mismatched profile will not sit flush and cannot be tightened securely.
Eight body variants differ in length (L), height (H) and glass-edge overhang (a).
Compact clamps (45×45 mm, 40×50 mm) suit lightweight panels and decorative infills where the clamp should be as small as possible.
Larger bodies (52×52 mm, 55×67 mm) provide a wider clamping area for heavier or wider panels.
Variants with extended overhang (a-16, a-18) grip more of the glass edge and are used on balustrades where hold strength is critical.
Most pipe-mount clamps include an integrated support shelf that carries the dead weight of the glass panel from its bottom edge, preventing the panel from sliding down over time.
One compact variant (B, 45×45 mm) is supplied without a supporter — choose it only where the glass load is carried by another means or where the clamp is used at a mid-height position rather than the bottom edge.
AISI 304 is the standard grade for interior and typical exterior installations.
AISI 316 is available on selected variants and should be specified for coastal, pool and high-humidity environments where higher chloride resistance is needed.
Satin is the default finish across the range — it conceals fingerprints and micro-scratches and matches most post and handrail systems.
A polished variant is available for projects requiring a brighter, reflective appearance. Finish is an aesthetic choice and does not affect clamping performance.
