The Strofix glass clamp 52×52 mm for Ø42.4 tube with support is a stainless-steel glass panel holder designed for mounting on Ø42.4 mm round railing post tubes. The clamp measures 52 × 52 × 32 mm (L × H × depth) and holds glass panels from 8 to 12.76 mm thick. The distance between the mounting surface and the glass panel is 16 mm. The 52 × 52 mm is the largest square tube-mount glass clamp for the Ø42.4 pipe in the Strofix range. The 32 mm depth and the 8–12.76 mm glass range make this a heavy-duty clamp for thicker glass on round tube post systems — it does not accommodate glass below 8 mm. The 16 mm standoff keeps the glass closer to the tube surface than the 20 mm standoff on the 45 × 45 tube clamps. Glass thickness options include 8, 10, and 12 mm single tempered glass and 8.76, 10.76, and 12.76 mm laminated safety glass (12.76 mm = 66.2 designation). The included security plate and safety pin provide secondary glass retention and enable side-mounting to posts. AISI 304 is suitable for standard installations; AISI 316 provides higher chloride resistance for coastal or exposed environments.

What glass thicknesses are supported?

The clamp accepts glass from 8 to 12.76 mm: single tempered glass (8, 10, 12 mm) and laminated safety glass (8.76, 10.76, 12.76 mm / 66.2). Glass below 8 mm is not supported — for thinner glass on Ø42.4 tube, use the 45 × 45 tube clamp.

How does this compare to the 45×45 tube clamp?

The 45 × 45 handles 4/6–10.76 mm glass with a 20 mm standoff. This 52 × 52 extends to 12.76 mm (including 12 mm tempered and 66.2 laminated) with a 16 mm standoff and deeper 32 mm body. Choose the 52 × 52 when the glass is thicker than 10.76 mm.

What is the standoff distance?

The standoff is 16 mm — the distance from the tube surface to the glass panel. This is 4 mm shorter than the 20 mm standoff on the 45 × 45 tube clamp, positioning the glass closer to the post.

About Glass Clamps for Pipe

A glass clamp for pipe is a stainless-steel bracket with a curved back profiled to sit flush against a round post, gripping a glass panel along its edge without requiring a drilled hole. The curved saddle wraps around the tube circumference, and the front half clamps the glass with rubber inserts that cushion the contact and accommodate the panel thickness.
