About D30 Glass Adaptors

A D30 glass adaptor is a Ø30 mm stainless-steel point fixing that mounts a glass panel to a wall, floor or post through a single drilled hole in the glass.

The 30 mm cover diameter makes it the smallest standard-size adaptor in the Strofix range, giving it a compact, low-profile appearance suited to residential balustrades, interior partitions, shower enclosures and lightweight decorative glazing.

Strofix supplies D30 glass adaptors in seven variants — flat-mount and Ø42.4 mm tube-mount, in satin and polished finishes, in AISI 304 or AISI 316 stainless steel, with spacer thicknesses from 6 to 52 mm.

An inner-thread variant is also available with selectable spacer height and screw length for through-bolt installations.

The correct D30 variant depends on mounting surface, spacer thickness, finish, steel grade and whether an inner thread is needed.

How to choose a D30 glass adaptor

1. Mounting surface: flat or Ø42.4 mm tube

Flat-mount D30 adaptors have a flat base for wall, floor or flat-sided post mounting.

Tube-mount variants have a concave base profiled for Ø42.4 mm round pipe, sitting flush against the tube circumference.

Choose the back profile that matches the structure the glass will be fixed to.

2. Spacer thickness (6–52 mm)

Spacer thickness sets the distance between the glass and the mounting surface.

The standard flat-mount and tube-mount variants are available with a fixed spacer of approximately 15 mm.

The 6 mm spacer variant allows a near-flush installation for thicker glass (8–21.52 mm).

The inner-thread variant offers selectable spacer heights of 10, 22, 32, 42 and 52 mm, covering a wide range of wall build-ups and insulation depths.

3. Fixing type: standard stud or inner thread

Standard D30 adaptors use a threaded stud that passes through the glass and is secured with a nut and cover on the opposite side.

The inner-thread variant accepts a bolt from the glass side, making it suited to installations where back-access is limited or where the fixing must be removable.

If using the inner-thread variant, also select the appropriate screw length to match the total assembly depth.

4. Steel grade: AISI 304 or AISI 316

AISI 304 is the standard grade for interior and typical exterior use.

AISI 316 is available on the flat-mount satin and tube-mount satin variants, and should be specified for coastal, pool and high-humidity environments.

5. Surface finish: satin or polished

Satin conceals fingerprints and micro-scratches and is the standard choice for most railing and partition systems.

Polished provides a brighter, mirror-like appearance for contemporary interiors.

Both finishes are available for flat-mount and tube-mount configurations.
