The Strofix glass clamp 55×65 mm for Ø42.4 tube with support is the largest tube-mount glass clamp in the Strofix range, designed for the thickest glass panels on Ø42.4 mm round railing post tubes. The clamp measures 67 × 55 × 37 mm (L × H × depth) and holds glass panels from 12 to 17.52 mm thick. The distance between the mounting surface and the glass panel is 20 mm. Manufactured from AISI 304 with a satin finish. Includes security plate and safety pin. Attached by screwing.
The 12–17.52 mm glass range covers the heaviest laminated safety glass panels used in commercial, public-access, and structural glass balustrade installations on round tube post systems. Glass thickness options include 12 mm single tempered glass and laminated configurations at 13.52, 16.76 mm (88.2 designation, 8+8+0.76 PVB), and 17.52 mm. This clamp starts where the 52 × 52 and 55 × 55 tube clamps end (at 12.76 mm) — there is a small overlap at 12 mm only. The included security plate and safety pin provide secondary glass retention and enable side-mounting to posts. The 37 mm depth and 67 mm width provide a substantial body for the heavy clamping loads on thick glass.
Select the glass thickness in the dropdown at order time.
The clamp accepts glass from 12 to 17.52 mm: 12 mm single tempered glass and laminated safety glass at 13.52, 16.76 (88.2), and 17.52 mm. This is the thickest glass range among the tube-mount clamps.
The 52 × 52 and 55 × 55 handle 8–12.76 mm glass. This 55 × 65 handles 12–17.52 mm — starting where the others end (with a small overlap at 12 mm). Choose this clamp when the glass is thicker than 12.76 mm.
Both handle 12–17.52 mm glass with the same glass thickness options. The flat version offers AISI 304/316; this tube-mount version is AISI 304 only. The flat version mounts on walls and square posts; this version has a curved back for Ø42.4 round tubes.
88.2 refers to laminated glass composed of two 8 mm panes bonded with a 0.76 mm PVB interlayer, producing 16.76 mm total thickness. This is a standard specification for structural glass balustrades.
Yes. The clamp includes a security plate and safety pin for secondary glass retention and side-mounting capability.
No. This tube-mount version is AISI 304 only. For AISI 316 in the 12–17.52 mm range, use the flat-mount 55 × 65 clamp (SKU ST-055650-4S).
A glass clamp for pipe is a stainless-steel bracket with a curved back profiled to sit flush against a round post, gripping a glass panel along its edge without requiring a drilled hole. The curved saddle wraps around the tube circumference, and the front half clamps the glass with rubber inserts that cushion the contact and accommodate the panel thickness.
Strofix supplies pipe-mount glass clamps in eight body variants — from compact 45×45 mm and 40×50 mm bodies to larger 52×52 mm, 55×67 mm and 45×63 mm bodies with glass-edge overhangs up to 18 mm — profiled for Ø42.4 mm and Ø48.3 mm round pipe, in AISI 304 or AISI 316 stainless steel with satin or polished finishes.
Most variants include an integrated glass support shelf; one compact variant is supplied without a supporter. The correct clamp depends on body size, pipe diameter, steel grade and whether a built-in glass support is needed.
Strofix designs and supplies stainless-steel fastening systems for architectural glass, including glass adaptors, railing components, handrails, and structural fixings. We also serve architects, installers, and building contractors on residential and commercial projects.
