Hanging glass canopy systems and components: tension rods (d10, d12), glass-to-rod and wall fixings (d50–d120). Supplied in AISI 304 or AISI 316 stainless steel with a satin finish. Available individually or as a complete system set.
A hanging glass canopy is a wall-mounted entrance shelter in which stainless-steel tension rods suspend the glass panel from anchor points above, transferring load diagonally back to the building façade.
The glass edge closest to the wall is carried by glass-wall fixings, while one or more tension rods run from the wall down to the outer edge of the glass, keeping the canopy in tension and eliminating the need for brackets below.
Strofix supplies all the individual components for hanging canopy systems — tension rods in Ø10 and Ø12 mm (lengths from 1000 to 2000 mm), glass-wall fixings in D50/D60 and D70/D120, glass-to-tension-rod fixings in D50 and D70, wall-to-tension-rod fixings in D60 and D120, and a complete system set — in AISI 304 or AISI 316 stainless steel with a satin finish.
The correct component selection depends on canopy span, glass weight, environment and wall structure.
Strofix offers a complete glass canopy system set that includes all the fixings for one tension-rod point — a glass-wall fixing, a wall-to-tension-rod fixing, a glass-to-tension-rod fixing and a tension rod.
Choose the set for a straightforward single-point installation.
Order individual components when building a multi-point system, replacing a single part, or when different sizes are needed at different positions.
The standard range uses D50 and D60 fixings with a Ø10 or Ø12 mm tension rod, in AISI 304 stainless steel — suited to residential entrances and moderate-span canopies.
The heavy-duty range uses D70 and D120 fixings in AISI 316 stainless steel — designed for larger, heavier glass panels, commercial entrances and environments that require higher corrosion resistance.
Rod diameter affects the maximum load the system can carry — Ø12 mm provides a higher tensile capacity than Ø10 mm.
Rod length is determined by the projection depth of the canopy and the height of the wall anchor above the glass.
Strofix supplies rods in lengths from 1000 to 2000 mm.
Measure the diagonal distance from the wall fixing point to the glass fixing point and select the closest available length.
Standard-range components (D50/D60, Ø10/Ø12 rods) are supplied in AISI 304, suitable for most interior and exterior installations.
Heavy-duty components (D70/D120) are supplied in AISI 316 with added molybdenum for higher resistance to chlorides and salt air — specify these for coastal, pool and high-humidity environments.
Each position in the hanging system requires a specific component type.
The glass-wall fixing connects the glass panel directly to the wall at its rear edge.
The glass-to-tension-rod fixing anchors the tension rod to the glass at its outer edge.
The wall-to-tension-rod fixing anchors the upper end of the tension rod to the wall above the entrance.
Identify all fixing positions before ordering to ensure a complete parts list.
