A distancer is a cylindrical stainless-steel spacer tube that sits between the glass adaptor body and the mounting surface, setting the wall-to-glass offset distance.
It is sold as a separate component so that the same adaptor head can be paired with different spacer lengths to suit varying wall build-ups, insulation thicknesses and cladding depths.
Strofix supplies distancers in three diameters — D30, D40 and D50 — in satin-finish stainless steel, with spacer heights ranging from 5 mm up to 60 mm.
Each diameter matches the corresponding Strofix glass adaptor body, and multiple height options are available per diameter variant.
The correct distancer depends on the adaptor diameter already in use and the required wall-to-glass offset for the specific installation.
The distancer must match the diameter of the glass adaptor body it will be used with.
A D30 distancer fits D30 adaptors, D40 fits D40, and D50 fits D50.
Check the adaptor already specified or installed on site before ordering a replacement or additional distancer.
Spacer height determines how far the glass panel stands off from the wall or mounting surface.
Strofix offers heights from 5 mm for near-flush installations up to 60 mm for walls with thick insulation, cladding or render layers.
Measure the total distance from the finished wall face to the desired glass position, subtract the adaptor head thickness, and select the closest available spacer height.
Distancers are sold individually so that an existing glass adaptor assembly can be reconfigured with a different offset — for instance, when wall finishes change during a build or when a project requires the same adaptor head at multiple offset depths.
Confirm that the new distancer height is compatible with the thread length of the fixing bolt before installation.
