About Front Handles

A front handle is a stainless-steel glass clamp designed for front-fixing at specific positions within a post-and-glass railing system — middle, ending and lateral.

Unlike standard wrap-around clamps that grip the glass edge from both sides, front handles are mounted from the visible face of the panel, making them suited to positions where a conventional two-piece clamp cannot be used or where front access is the only option.

Strofix supplies front handles in five variants: a lateral fixing clamp, middle-position clamps for flat surface and Ø42.4 mm pipe, and ending-position clamps for flat surface and Ø42.4 mm pipe — all in AISI 304 stainless steel with a satin finish, with AISI 316 available on the lateral fixing variant.

The correct front handle depends on the position in the railing run and whether the post is flat-sided or a Ø42.4 mm round pipe.

How to choose a front handle

1. Position in the railing run: middle, ending or lateral

Middle-position front handles sit between two adjacent glass panels, clamping where two panel edges meet at an intermediate post.

Ending-position front handles terminate the railing run at the last post.

The lateral fixing clamp is used where a panel is fixed from the side — typically at a wall return or where the glass meets a perpendicular structure.

Identify all front-handle positions in the railing layout before ordering.

2. Mounting surface: flat or Ø42.4 mm pipe

Middle and ending front handles are each available in two back-profile variants — flat-back for wall, floor or flat-sided post mounting, and curved-back for Ø42.4 mm round pipe.

The lateral fixing variant is available for flat surface mounting.

Match the back profile to the post or structure at that position.

3. Steel grade: AISI 304 or AISI 316

All five variants are supplied in AISI 304 stainless steel, suitable for interior and typical exterior installations.

AISI 316 is available on the lateral fixing variant for coastal, pool and high-humidity environments where higher chloride resistance is required.
