About 40×40 Glass Adaptors
A 40×40 glass adaptor is a square-profile stainless-steel point fixing with a 40×40 mm cover face that mounts a glass panel to a flat surface through a single drilled hole.
The squared cover distinguishes it from round adaptors in the Strofix range, providing a geometric, contemporary appearance that pairs with square railing posts, rectangular profiles and modern architectural details.
Strofix supplies the 40×40 glass adaptor in AISI 304 stainless steel with a satin finish, featuring an adjustable cover and selectable spacer thicknesses of 12, 22, 32 and 42 mm.
The adjustable cover allows fine-tuning of the visible face position after the body is fixed, and the M10 × 70 mm screw provides a secure through-bolt connection.
The correct spacer thickness depends on the wall-to-glass offset required by the installation.
How to choose a 40×40 glass adaptors
1. Spacer thickness (12 / 22 / 32 / 42 mm)
Spacer thickness is the only configurable dimension.
It sets the distance between the glass and the mounting surface.
Choose 12 mm for minimal standoff, 22 mm for standard wall construction, 32 mm where render or cladding adds depth, and 42 mm for walls with thick insulation or finish layers.
Select the spacer thickness at the time of ordering — it is fixed per variant.
2. Design intent: square vs. round
The 40×40 adaptor is chosen specifically for its squared cover profile.
If the project uses square or rectangular posts, channels or trim, the 40×40 adaptor will match the surrounding geometry.
If a round profile is preferred, choose from the D30, D40 or D50 round adaptors in the same diameter range instead.
3. Adjustable cover
The adjustable cover can be repositioned after the adaptor body and spacer are installed, allowing the visible face to be aligned precisely with adjacent fixings or panel edges.
This feature reduces the need for shimming and helps achieve a consistent finish line across multiple fixing points.
