The Strofix canopy connector for glass facade is an aluminum standoff fitting that enables hanging glass canopy fixings to be installed through or onto glass facade (curtain wall) systems. The connector is available in nine lengths: 28, 33, 41, 47, 55, 57, 62, 71, or 81 mm, allowing precise matching to the specific glass facade assembly depth. Select the connector length in the dropdown at order time. A technical information PDF is available for download on the product page.

When a hanging glass canopy is installed on a building with a glass facade rather than a solid masonry or concrete wall, the canopy fixings cannot anchor directly to the structural substrate behind the facade. The facade connector bridges the gap between the outer facade surface and the structural fixing point behind it, passing through the facade assembly. The nine available lengths cover a wide range of facade configurations — from thin single-glazed panels to deep double-skin facade assemblies with air gaps, insulation, and mullion depths. Selecting the correct length ensures the connector fits the precise depth of the specific facade system on site.

This product is used in combination with the other Strofix hanging glass canopy components (wall fixings, glass fixings, tension rods).

Use cases:

  • Hanging glass canopy installation on glass curtain wall facades
  • Bridging through facade glass, mullion, and air gap to the structural support behind
  • Commercial buildings with glass facade systems requiring exterior canopy mounting
  • Adapting the Strofix hanging canopy system to different facade assembly depths
  • Any installation where canopy fixings must pass through a non-structural facade layer

FAQ:

What connector lengths are available?

Nine lengths: 28, 33, 41, 47, 55, 57, 62, 71, and 81 mm. Select in the dropdown at order time.

How do I choose the correct length?

Measure the total depth of the glass facade assembly at the canopy fixing location — including the facade glass, any air gap, insulation, and mullion depth — from the outer facade surface to the structural substrate behind. Select the connector length that matches this depth. The technical information PDF provides additional guidance.

What is a glass facade connector?

The connector is a standoff fitting that passes through the glass facade (curtain wall) system, bridging the non-structural facade layers to reach the structural support behind. It allows the hanging canopy fixings to anchor to the building structure rather than to the non-structural facade glass.

When is this connector needed?

This connector is needed when the building has a glass curtain wall facade rather than a solid masonry, concrete, or timber wall. If the canopy fixings can anchor directly to a solid wall, this connector is not required.

Is a technical PDF available?

Yes. A technical information PDF is available for download on the product page, providing installation details and dimensional guidance for facade connector selection.

What other components are needed?

The facade connector is used in combination with the Strofix hanging glass canopy fixings — wall-tension rod fixing, glass-wall fixing, glass-tension rod fixing, and tension rod. See the complete Strofix Hanging Glass Canopies subcategory for all system components.

About Hanging Glass Canopies

A hanging glass canopy is a wall-mounted entrance shelter in which stainless-steel tension rods suspend the glass panel from anchor points above, transferring load diagonally back to the building façade.

The glass edge closest to the wall is carried by glass-wall fixings, while one or more tension rods run from the wall down to the outer edge of the glass, keeping the canopy in tension and eliminating the need for brackets below. Strofix supplies all the individual components for hanging canopy systems — tension rods in Ø10 and Ø12 mm (lengths from 1000 to 2000 mm), glass-wall fixings in D50/D60 and D70/D120, glass-to-tension-rod fixings in D50 and D70, wall-to-tension-rod fixings in D60 and D120, and a complete system set — in AISI 304 or AISI 316 stainless steel with a satin finish.

The correct component selection depends on canopy span, glass weight, environment and wall structure.
