The Strofix canopy tension rod is an AISI 304 stainless-steel rod with a Ø10 mm diameter (d10) for hanging glass canopy systems, available in 1000 or 1200 mm lengths. The rod features left/right thread ends — one end has a left-hand thread and the other has a right-hand thread — creating a turnbuckle mechanism that allows the tension to be adjusted by rotating the rod. Supplied in satin finish. Select the length in the dropdown at order time.
The tension rod is the structural link between the wall-mounted tension rod fixing (upper anchor on the facade) and the glass-mounted tension rod fixing (at the outer edge of the glass panel). The rod runs at an angle from the wall above down to the glass below, suspending the glass canopy panel. The left/right thread turnbuckle design allows the installer to fine-tune the rod tension after assembly — rotating the rod draws both end fittings closer together (tightening) or pushes them apart (loosening) without disassembling either connection. The two length options (1000 and 1200 mm) accommodate different wall heights and canopy projection distances. AISI 304 stainless steel is suitable for standard sheltered installations.
This product is one component of the Strofix hanging glass canopy system.
Two lengths: 1000 mm and 1200 mm. Select in the dropdown at order time. Choose based on the distance between the wall anchor point and the glass panel fixing point.
One end of the rod has a left-hand (reverse) thread and the other has a standard right-hand thread. When the rod is rotated, both ends screw in or out simultaneously — this is a turnbuckle mechanism that allows the rod tension to be adjusted without disconnecting either end fitting.
The rod is Ø10 mm (d10).
The upper end connects to the wall-mounted tension rod fixing (SKU SJ50WT) on the building facade. The lower end connects to the glass-mounted tension rod fixing (SKU SJ50GT) at the outer edge of the glass canopy panel.
AISI 304 stainless steel with a satin finish.
The rod is supplied in the selected length (1000 or 1200 mm). The left/right thread turnbuckle provides adjustment range within the rod's fixed length. Cutting is not recommended as it would remove the threaded ends.
A hanging glass canopy is a wall-mounted entrance shelter in which stainless-steel tension rods suspend the glass panel from anchor points above, transferring load diagonally back to the building façade.
The glass edge closest to the wall is carried by glass-wall fixings, while one or more tension rods run from the wall down to the outer edge of the glass, keeping the canopy in tension and eliminating the need for brackets below. Strofix supplies all the individual components for hanging canopy systems — tension rods in Ø10 and Ø12 mm (lengths from 1000 to 2000 mm), glass-wall fixings in D50/D60 and D70/D120, glass-to-tension-rod fixings in D50 and D70, wall-to-tension-rod fixings in D60 and D120, and a complete system set — in AISI 304 or AISI 316 stainless steel with a satin finish.
The correct component selection depends on canopy span, glass weight, environment and wall structure.
Strofix designs and supplies stainless-steel fastening systems for architectural glass, including glass adaptors, railing components, handrails, and structural fixings. We also serve architects, installers, and building contractors on residential and commercial projects.
