The Strofix glass adaptor distancer D30 satin (threaded) is a stainless-steel spacer with an internal M8 thread, designed as the primary standoff component in Strofix D30 glass adaptor assemblies. It sets the distance between the mounting surface and the glass panel. Manufactured from AISI 304 with a satin finish, Ø 30 mm outer diameter, available in four spacer thicknesses: 20, 30, 40, or 50 mm.

The internal M8 thread allows the fixing screw to thread directly into the distancer body, making it the structural connection between the wall anchor and the glass-side adaptor cover. The distancer is designed for flat mounting surfaces and is sold individually. Select the spacer thickness to match the required standoff: 20 mm for minimal offset, 30 or 40 mm for standard wall constructions, and 50 mm where additional clearance is needed for insulation or finish layers. The thickness is fixed once selected — it is not adjustable after installation.

The satin finish matches the Strofix D30 glass adaptor cover and other satin-finished D30 components, maintaining a uniform appearance across the complete assembly.

Use cases:

  • Setting the wall-to-glass standoff distance in D30 glass adaptor assemblies for balustrades
  • Glass partition fixings with controlled spacing in offices and retail spaces
  • Façade glazing point fixings requiring specific panel offset from the structure
  • Glass canopy and awning point fixing assemblies
  • Mezzanine edge protection and staircase glazing fixings
  • Replacing or upgrading spacers in existing Strofix D30 installations

FAQ:

Which spacer thickness should I choose?

The spacer sets the distance between the wall and the glass panel. Select 20 mm for minimal standoff, 30 or 40 mm for standard wall constructions where the glass needs to clear finish layers or framing, and 50 mm where additional clearance is required for insulation or deep cladding. The spacer thickness cannot be changed after installation — order the correct variant.

How does this threaded distancer differ from the 4 mm unthreaded distancer?

This distancer has an internal M8 thread and is the primary structural spacer in the adaptor assembly — the fixing screw threads directly into it. The 4 mm unthreaded distancer is a thin passive shim with a plain through-hole, used for fine-tuning the standoff in small increments. The two serve different roles and can be used together in the same assembly.

What screw does it accept?

The internal thread is M8. The M8 fixing screw threads into the distancer body from the glass side, securing the adaptor cover, glass, gaskets, and distancer as a single assembly.

Which Strofix glass adaptors is it compatible with?

This distancer is sized for the Strofix D30 glass adaptor range (Ø 30 mm cover diameter, M8 screw, flat mounting surface). It is not compatible with D40 or D50 adaptors.

What material and finish is it supplied in?

AISI 304 stainless steel with a satin surface finish. These are fixed on this SKU — there is no grade or finish selection.

Is the standoff adjustable after installation?

No. The spacer thickness (20, 30, 40, or 50 mm) is fixed and determines a set standoff distance. To change the standoff, the assembly must be disassembled and the distancer replaced with a different thickness. For fine adjustment, the 4 mm unthreaded D30 distancer can be added to the assembly.

About glass adaptor distancers

A distancer is a cylindrical stainless-steel spacer tube that sits between the glass adaptor body and the mounting surface, setting the wall-to-glass offset distance. It is sold as a separate component so that the same adaptor head can be paired with different spacer lengths to suit varying wall build-ups, insulation thicknesses and cladding depths.

Strofix supplies distancers in three diameters — D30, D40 and D50 — in satin-finish stainless steel, with spacer heights ranging from 5 mm up to 60 mm. Each diameter matches the corresponding Strofix glass adaptor body, and multiple height options are available per diameter variant.

The correct distancer depends on the adaptor diameter already in use and the required wall-to-glass offset for the specific installation.
