The Strofix canopy fixing glass-wall is a stainless-steel combination fitting for hanging glass canopy systems that simultaneously clamps the glass canopy panel and anchors to the building wall. The fitting has a Ø50 mm rosette (d50/d60 mm) and accepts glass panels from 8 to 17.52 mm thick. Available in AISI 304 with a satin finish. Select the steel grade in the dropdown at order time.

The glass-wall fixing is used at the wall-side attachment points of a hanging glass canopy where the glass panel meets the building facade. The fitting passes through a pre-drilled hole in the glass canopy panel, clamping the glass between two rosettes, and simultaneously connects to the wall behind — combining the glass clamping and wall anchoring functions in a single component. The 8–17.52 mm glass thickness range covers single tempered glass (8, 10, 12 mm) and laminated safety glass configurations up to 17.52 mm (e.g., 2 × 8.76 mm). AISI 304 is suitable for standard sheltered installations.

This product is one component of the Strofix hanging glass canopy system.

Use cases:

  • Wall-side glass clamping and wall anchoring in hanging canopy systems
  • Combination fitting that eliminates separate glass fixing and wall fixing at the wall connection
  • Glass canopy installations with single tempered glass (8–12 mm)
  • Glass canopy installations with laminated safety glass (up to 17.52 mm)

FAQ:

What does this fitting do?

The glass-wall fixing serves two functions in one component: it clamps the glass canopy panel (passing through a hole in the glass with rosettes on both sides) and anchors the clamped glass to the building wall. This eliminates the need for separate glass and wall fixings at the wall-side connection points.

What glass thicknesses are supported?

The fitting accepts glass panels from 8 to 17.52 mm thick. This covers single tempered glass panels (8, 10, 12 mm) and laminated safety glass (e.g., 8.76, 10.76, 13.52, 17.52 mm).

What are the rosette dimensions?

The product is designated d50/d60 mm. The Ø50 mm dimension is shown in the spec table. The dual diameter designation refers to the glass-side and wall-side rosette dimensions.

Which steel grades are available?

AISI 304 is currently available.

How does this differ from the wall-tension rod fixing?

The wall-tension rod fixing (SKU SJ50WT) is a wall-only anchor point that connects to a tension rod — it does not touch the glass. This glass-wall fixing clamps the glass AND connects to the wall in one piece. Use the wall-tension rod fixing where the tension rod meets the wall above the glass; use this glass-wall fixing where the glass panel meets the wall directly.

What other components are needed?

A complete hanging glass canopy system typically also requires: glass-tension rod fixings (at the outer edge of the glass), tension rods, and the wall-tension rod fixing at the upper wall anchor point. See the Strofix hanging canopy system set for a complete package.

About Hanging Glass Canopies

A hanging glass canopy is a wall-mounted entrance shelter in which stainless-steel tension rods suspend the glass panel from anchor points above, transferring load diagonally back to the building façade.

Strofix offers all the parts needed to build hanging canopy systems — the suspension rods, the fittings that hold the glass against the wall, the connectors that link the rods to both the glass and the wall, and complete system sets — all made in stainless steel with a satin finish.

The benefits go beyond appearance. The canopy shelters the doorway from rain and snow, keeping visitors dry as they arrive and protecting the door and threshold from constant weather exposure, which extends their working life. Because the glass is clear, daylight still reaches the entrance, so the area underneath does not feel dark or enclosed. The slim rod suspension leaves the façade largely unobstructed, which is especially valuable on buildings with detailed brickwork, stonework, or architectural features worth preserving.

The correct component selection depends on canopy span, glass weight, environment and wall structure.
