The Strofix wood screw Ø10 × 140 is an AISI 304 stainless-steel wood screw with a 140 mm length and 10 mm shaft diameter, designed for fastening metal brackets and components to wooden substrates. Supplied with a satin finish.
The stainless-steel wood screw provides a direct metal-to-wood fixing for railing brackets, glass canopy support brackets, and other structural metalwork mounted on timber. The AISI 304 stainless-steel construction provides inherent corrosion resistance without the need for a coating, making it suitable for both interior and exterior installations including environments where stainless steel is specified. The 140 mm length is shorter than the 180 mm wood screw in the Strofix range, making it suitable for thinner timber sections or where shallower embedment is required. Pre-drill the pilot hole in the timber to the recommended size before driving the screw.
This SKU is a single fixed configuration — Ø10 × 140 mm, AISI 304 satin only.
The screw has a Ø10 mm shaft diameter and 140 mm total length.
The 180 mm version is a carbon steel screw with C4 EVO coating in selectable RAL colours. This 140 mm version is AISI 304 stainless steel with a satin finish. The differences are: material (stainless vs coated carbon steel), length (140 vs 180 mm), and finish (satin vs RAL colours). Choose based on the required material specification and timber depth.
AISI 304 stainless steel with a satin finish. Unlike the carbon steel C4 EVO wood screw, this stainless-steel version provides corrosion resistance from the base material rather than from a coating.
Check the product listing for washer inclusion. The related Ø10 × 180 mm wood screw includes an integrated nylon washer; this product's inclusion should be confirmed on the product page.
Pre-drill the pilot hole at approximately 0.6 × Ø (6 mm) in the timber before driving the screw.

Anchors and screws are the mechanical fasteners that secure glass adaptors, canopy brackets, railing posts, French balcony holders and other architectural hardware to the building substrate. They transfer structural loads from the visible hardware into concrete, masonry, insulated façades or timber frames.
Strofix supplies 16 products in this category: steel anchors in four lengths (150, 220, 320 and 400 mm) with rod diameters of Ø16 and Ø20 mm, an anchor sleeve (M10 × 80 mm), a spacer tube (L = 100 mm), individual screws (M10 × 45), cup nuts (M10), washers, double stainless-steel threads (M8, 60 and 100 mm), a wood screw (Ø10 × 180 mm), and pre-matched screw-and-fastener sets for 1, 2, 3 or 4 glass canopy brackets — configurable for masonry without insulation, masonry with insulation and timber-frame construction.
Materials are AISI 304 stainless steel and S235 structural steel.
The correct fastener depends on wall type, hardware product, bolt size and required embedment depth.
Strofix designs and supplies stainless-steel fastening systems for architectural glass, including glass adaptors, railing components, handrails, and structural fixings. We also serve architects, installers, and building contractors on residential and commercial projects.
