The Strofix spacer is a PVC sleeve with a 49 mm outer diameter (D), 18 mm inner bore (d), and 100 mm length (L). The spacer is used for mounting load-bearing reinforcement through thermal insulation and other non-load-bearing wall layers, providing a rigid sleeve that bridges the insulation between the structural concrete and the surface above.
When a railing post or other structural component is anchored to a concrete slab through a layer of thermal insulation, the spacer sleeve is placed around the anchor rod to prevent the insulation from being compressed or damaged by the fixing. The 18 mm bore fits over the anchor rod or threaded stud, and the 49 mm outer diameter provides bearing area against the insulation. The 100 mm length corresponds to common insulation thicknesses. For thicker insulation layers, multiple spacers can be extended by snapping one onto another end-to-end until the required total length is reached.
PVC is used for its thermal break properties — the plastic sleeve does not conduct heat, maintaining the thermal performance of the insulation layer it passes through.
The spacer provides a rigid PVC sleeve through thermal insulation and other non-load-bearing layers. It prevents the insulation from being compressed or damaged when an anchor rod is tightened, and it maintains a clear bore for the rod through the insulation.
The outer diameter is 49 mm (D), the inner bore is 18 mm (d), and the length is 100 mm (L).
Yes. Multiple spacers can be snapped together end-to-end to reach the required total length. Each spacer adds 100 mm. This allows the same product to accommodate different insulation thicknesses.
The spacer is made from PVC (polyvinyl chloride). PVC is non-conductive, so the spacer acts as a thermal break — it does not transfer heat through the insulation layer.
Yes. The 18 mm bore accommodates the anchor rod or threaded stud. The rod passes through the centre of the spacer, which sits inside the insulation layer surrounding the rod.
Yes. The spacer is used in combination with the Strofix steel anchor rods (AISI 304 or S235 galvanized) when the anchor installation passes through thermal insulation to reach the structural concrete beneath.
Anchors and screws are the mechanical fasteners that secure glass adaptors, canopy brackets, railing posts, French balcony holders and other architectural hardware to the building substrate. They transfer structural loads from the visible hardware into concrete, masonry, insulated façades or timber frames.
Strofix supplies 16 products in this category: steel anchors in four lengths (150, 220, 320 and 400 mm) with rod diameters of Ø16 and Ø20 mm, an anchor sleeve (M10 × 80 mm), a spacer tube (L = 100 mm), individual screws (M10 × 45), cup nuts (M10), washers, double stainless-steel threads (M8, 60 and 100 mm), a wood screw (Ø10 × 180 mm), and pre-matched screw-and-fastener sets for 1, 2, 3 or 4 glass canopy brackets — configurable for masonry without insulation, masonry with insulation and timber-frame construction.
Materials are AISI 304 stainless steel and S235 structural steel. The correct fastener depends on wall type, hardware product, bolt size and required embedment depth.
Strofix designs and supplies stainless-steel fastening systems for architectural glass, including glass adaptors, railing components, handrails, and structural fixings. We also serve architects, installers, and building contractors on residential and commercial projects.
