Steel grade AISI304
Screw size M8
Rod length 60mm

The Strofix double stainless-steel thread M8 L60 is an AISI 304 double-end threaded stud (hanger bolt) with an M8 machine thread and 60 mm length. One end has a coarse wood screw thread for screwing into timber; the other end has an M8 metric machine thread for receiving a nut. Intended for wooden frame building and timber substrate installations.

The double-end stud bridges wood-to-metal connections in railing installations. The wood screw end is driven into a timber deck, beam, or frame member, and the protruding M8 machine thread end receives a nut and washer to secure a railing post base plate or other metal component. The M8 thread matches base plates with Ø8.5–9 mm bolt holes, such as the compact Ø80 mm round tube base plate and the 80 × 80 / 105 × 105 mm square tube base plates. AISI 304 stainless steel provides corrosion resistance at the wood-metal interface.

This SKU is a single fixed configuration — M8, L = 60 mm, AISI 304 only.

Use cases:

  • Anchoring railing post base plates to wooden decks and terraces with M8 pattern
  • Railing installations on timber-framed balconies and mezzanines
  • Securing M8-pattern base plates to wooden beams and structural timber
  • Wood-to-metal bridging for railing fixings on wood substrates
  • Timber frame building railing installations where concrete anchoring is not applicable

FAQ:

What are the stud dimensions?

M8 machine thread, 60 mm total length. One end has a coarse wood screw thread, the other has M8 metric machine thread.

What base plates use M8 bolt holes?

Strofix Ø80 mm round tube base plates and 80 × 80 / 105 × 105 mm square tube base plates have Ø8.5–9 mm holes for M8.

How does this differ from the M10 L100 double thread?

This product is M8 thread, 60 mm long. The M10 L100 is M10 thread, 100 mm long. Choose based on the base plate bolt hole size (M8 for Ø8.5–9 mm holes, M10 for Ø11 mm holes) and the required timber embedment depth.

How is the stud installed?

Pre-drill a pilot hole in the timber. Drive the wood screw end into the timber using a stud driver or two nuts on the machine end. The M8 thread protrudes for the base plate, washer, and nut.

What steel grade is used?

AISI 304 stainless steel, providing corrosion resistance at the wood-metal interface.

About Anchors & Screws

Anchors and screws are the mechanical fasteners that secure glass adaptors, canopy brackets, railing posts, French balcony holders and other architectural hardware to the building substrate. They transfer structural loads from the visible hardware into concrete, masonry, insulated façades or timber frames.

Strofix supplies 16 products in this category: steel anchors in four lengths (150, 220, 320 and 400 mm) with rod diameters of Ø16 and Ø20 mm, an anchor sleeve (M10 × 80 mm), a spacer tube (L = 100 mm), individual screws (M10 × 45), cup nuts (M10), washers, double stainless-steel threads (M8, 60 and 100 mm), a wood screw (Ø10 × 180 mm), and pre-matched screw-and-fastener sets for 1, 2, 3 or 4 glass canopy brackets — configurable for masonry without insulation, masonry with insulation and timber-frame construction.

Materials are AISI 304 stainless steel and S235 structural steel.

The correct fastener depends on wall type, hardware product, bolt size and required embedment depth.
