The Strofix cup nut M10 is an AISI 304 (A2) stainless-steel domed cap nut manufactured to DIN 1587 standard. The nut has an M10 internal thread and a closed dome top that covers the exposed end of the bolt or threaded rod.
The domed cap nut threads onto the protruding end of an M10 bolt, screw, or anchor rod and conceals the thread with a smooth, rounded dome. This provides a finished, safe appearance and prevents contact injuries from exposed thread ends — particularly important on railing and balustrade assemblies where the public may touch the hardware. In railing installations, the cup nut is typically used on anchor rod ends that protrude through the base plate, or on any exposed M10 threaded connection where a clean termination is required. AISI 304 (A2) stainless steel provides corrosion resistance matching other Strofix stainless-steel components.
This SKU is a single fixed configuration — M10, AISI 304 only.
The cup nut has an M10 internal thread. It fits M10 bolts, screws, and anchor rods.
The nut is manufactured to DIN 1587, which specifies domed cap nuts (also known as acorn nuts or cup nuts). The closed dome top fully encloses the thread end.
A cup nut covers the exposed thread with a smooth, rounded dome. This prevents contact injuries from sharp thread ends and provides a more finished appearance. Standard hex nuts leave the thread end exposed. Use a cup nut wherever the thread end is visible or accessible to the public.
The cup nut is AISI 304, designated A2 under the European stainless-steel fastener classification. This matches the grade used on other Strofix stainless-steel fasteners in the range.
A standard spanner or socket wrench is used to tighten the cup nut. The hex flats on the nut body accept the same wrench size as a standard M10 hex nut.
Anchors and screws are the mechanical fasteners that secure glass adaptors, canopy brackets, railing posts, French balcony holders and other architectural hardware to the building substrate. They transfer structural loads from the visible hardware into concrete, masonry, insulated façades or timber frames.
Strofix supplies 16 products in this category: steel anchors in four lengths (150, 220, 320 and 400 mm) with rod diameters of Ø16 and Ø20 mm, an anchor sleeve (M10 × 80 mm), a spacer tube (L = 100 mm), individual screws (M10 × 45), cup nuts (M10), washers, double stainless-steel threads (M8, 60 and 100 mm), a wood screw (Ø10 × 180 mm), and pre-matched screw-and-fastener sets for 1, 2, 3 or 4 glass canopy brackets — configurable for masonry without insulation, masonry with insulation and timber-frame construction.
Materials are AISI 304 stainless steel and S235 structural steel. The correct fastener depends on wall type, hardware product, bolt size and required embedment depth.
Strofix designs and supplies stainless-steel fastening systems for architectural glass, including glass adaptors, railing components, handrails, and structural fixings. We also serve architects, installers, and building contractors on residential and commercial projects.
