Steel anchor D16, L 320mm, M8, S235

The Strofix steel anchor D16, L 320 mm, M8 is a solid Ø16 mm S235 steel rod, 320 mm long, with an internal M8 thread at one end and grooves for chemical anchoring at the other. It is zinc-plated (galvanized).

The grooved end – the last 100 mm – is bonded into a drilled hole in concrete or solid masonry with chemical anchor mass. The rest of the rod passes through the façade layers, and a glass adaptor, French balcony holder or other fitting is screwed into the M8 thread at its end. The 320 mm length is designed for façade build-ups up to about 220 mm thick.

Zinc plating protects the S235 steel inside the wall; the visible fitting screwed into it is usually stainless steel.

• Point-fixed glass and other fittings mounted through render or insulation

How is the anchor installed?

Drill and clean the hole, fill it with chemical anchor mass and push in the grooved end. When the resin has cured, screw the fitting into the M8 thread.

Where is the thread?

At the end of the rod, as an internal (female) M8 thread. The fitting or its fixing screw is screwed into the anchor – no thread protrudes from the rod.

Which length do I need?

The bonded section is 100 mm; the rest of the rod bridges render, insulation and other façade layers. Choose a length that reaches through the façade build-up to the fitting. The 320 mm length is designed for façade build-ups up to about 220 mm thick.

What is the finish?

Zinc-plated (galvanized) S235 steel.

Which chemical anchor mass can I use?

Use a chemical anchor mass suited to the substrate. The Strofix range has 300 ml cartridges for normal temperatures and for cold weather.
