Material EPDM

The Strofix rubber inlay for glass clamp 55×65 mm is an EPDM rubber gasket designed to fit inside the 55 × 65 mm glass clamp body, gripping the thickest glass panels in the Strofix range securely between two gaskets. Available for glass thicknesses of 12, 12.76 (66.2), 13.52, 16.76 (88.2), or 17.52 mm. Select the glass thickness at order time. Sold individually — two inlays are required per clamp (one on each side of the glass).

The 55 × 65 mm gasket is the largest rubber inlay in the Strofix glass clamp range, matching the heavy glass thickness range of the 55 × 65 flat-mount and 55 × 65 tube-mount Ø42.4 glass clamps. The glass options include 12 mm single tempered glass and four laminated safety glass configurations: 12.76 mm (66.2), 13.52 mm, 16.76 mm (88.2, two 8 mm panes with 0.76 mm PVB), and 17.52 mm. These gaskets are physically larger than the smaller clamp inlays, reflecting the thicker glass panels they grip. EPDM rubber provides consistent clamping pressure and is resistant to weathering, UV exposure, ozone, and temperature extremes.

Use cases:

  • Replacement EPDM gasket for 55 × 65 mm glass clamps (flat-mount and tube-mount Ø42.4)
  • Changing glass thickness on an existing 55 × 65 clamp by swapping to the correct gasket
  • Spare gaskets for heavy-glass clamp installations with 12–17.52 mm panels
  • Maintaining structural glass balustrade installations with the largest glass clamp size

FAQ

What glass thicknesses are available?

Five options: 12 mm single tempered and laminated at 12.76 mm (66.2), 13.52 mm, 16.76 mm (88.2), and 17.52 mm. These correspond to the heaviest structural glass balustrade panels.

Which glass clamps does this fit?

This inlay fits both the 55 × 65 mm flat-mount clamp and the 55 × 65 mm tube-mount Ø42.4 clamp in the Strofix range.

Why does this gasket cost more than the smaller sizes?

The 55 × 65 gasket is physically larger than the 30×30, 45×45, 52×52, and 55×55 gaskets, using more EPDM material to grip the thicker glass panels (up to 17.52 mm).

How many inlays do I need per clamp?

Two inlays per clamp — one on each side of the glass panel.

What material is the inlay?

EPDM rubber, resistant to weathering, UV, ozone, and temperature extremes.

About Rubbers for Glass Clamps

A rubber inlay for a glass clamp is a replaceable insert that sits between the metal clamp body and the glass panel, cushioning the clamping pressure, preventing direct steel-to-glass contact and compensating for the specific panel thickness.

Each rubber pair is shaped to match a particular Strofix clamp model, ensuring a snug fit inside the clamp channel. Strofix supplies rubber inlays for all of our clamp models — with thickness options covering single-pane glass at 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 mm and laminated glass at 12.76 mm (66.2) and 16.76 mm (88.2).

Rubbers are sold individually so that an existing clamp can be reconfigured for a different glass thickness or worn inserts can be replaced without changing the clamp body itself.
