The Strofix glass canopy profile (3 m) is an anodized aluminium supporting profile for fixed-in-profile glass canopy systems, where the glass panel is secured along its edge within the profile channel. The profile is 3000 mm long with a built-in roof slope of +10°, designed for laminated toughened glass panels with a thickness of 17.52 mm. Maximum glass panel size: 1000 × 3000 mm. Maximum load: 1.5 kN.
The glass panel must have pre-drilled holes of Ø 20 mm, spaced at 200 mm intervals, to allow the fixing screws to pass through the glass into the profile body. The set includes the aluminium profile, sealing elements, and end covers — providing a complete edge-mounting solution for one side of the canopy. The profile mounts to the wall above the entrance, and the glass slides into the channel where it is secured and sealed.
The anodized aluminium construction is lightweight, corrosion resistant, and maintenance-free, making it suitable for exterior canopy applications. The fixed-in-profile mounting method produces a clean, streamlined appearance with no visible point fixings on the glass surface.
The set includes the 3000 mm anodized aluminium profile, sealing elements, and end covers. Glass is not included — it must be ordered separately to match the required dimensions (maximum 1000 × 3000 mm, 17.52 mm thick).
The profile is designed for laminated toughened glass with a thickness of 17.52 mm. The glass panel must have pre-drilled holes of Ø 20 mm, spaced at 200 mm intervals along the edge that sits in the profile.
The profile has a built-in slope of +10°, which ensures rainwater runs off the glass surface and does not pool.
The maximum load is 1.5 kN. Glass panel size, thickness, and installation conditions must be calculated to stay within this load limit.
The 3 m profile covers a span of up to 3000 mm, while the 1.4 m profile covers up to 1400 mm. Both share the same aluminium construction, +10° slope, 17.52 mm glass thickness, and 1.5 kN load rating. Select the profile length to match the required canopy span.
Anodized aluminium. The anodized surface provides corrosion resistance and a durable exterior finish without the need for painting or ongoing maintenance.
A canopy fixed in profile is an aluminium wall-mounted channel system that holds a glass panel along its rear edge, forming a clean entrance shelter without visible brackets, rods or point fixings. The glass slides into an extruded aluminium profile that is bolted to the wall, and the profile's internal rubber lining grips the panel securely while allowing for thermal expansion.
This mounting method produces the most minimal canopy appearance of the three types — no hardware is visible from below, and the only structural element is the slim profile line at the wall. Strofix supplies fixed-in-profile canopy systems in two lengths — 1400 mm and 3000 mm — in aluminium with a 1000 mm projection depth (glass width).
The correct profile depends on the entrance width to be covered and the glass panel size.
Strofix designs and supplies stainless-steel fastening systems for architectural glass, including glass adaptors, railing components, handrails, and structural fixings. We also serve architects, installers, and building contractors on residential and commercial projects.
