Profile for glass 8mm, Satin, 2500mm

The Strofix profile for glass 8mm, Satin, 2500mm is an AISI 304 stainless-steel U-profile channel bar for glass-top handrails, sized for 8 mm glass. It is 2500 mm long with a satin finish, and forms the channel that fixes an applied handrail to the top edge of a glass panel. Installation is without a gasket, using silicone.

The channel profile (channel bar) is the structural link between the glass panel and the applied handrail. It receives the top edge of the glass panel and carries the handrail profile above it, transferring load from the rail into the glass. This 8 mm version is sized to the glass thickness and is bonded to the glass with silicone — no clamping rubber is used with this profile. It pairs with the applied handrails and, for other glass thicknesses, the range includes matching profiles from 8 mm to 21.52 mm, as well as "SET" versions and an anodized aluminium option.

About Handrails

A handrail is the graspable top rail of a balustrade system, running along the upper edge of railing posts or the top of a glass panel to provide a secure handhold. The handrail profile sits on handrail supports or is fixed directly to the glass via a channel bar, and fittings at each joint — elbows, end caps and axial connectors — allow the rail to follow corners, stair pitches and direction changes.
