The Strofix hanging glass canopy with 2 rods, 1200–1300 is a complete, ready-to-install glass canopy system for building entrances requiring a deeper projection from the facade. The kit includes a 12.76 mm (66.2) laminated safety glass panel and all AISI 304 stainless-steel hardware required for a 2-rod suspension installation. Select the glass panel dimensions and finish at order time.
This is the deep-projection version of the 2-rod hanging canopy. The glass panel is available in three widths (1400, 1600, or 1800 mm) and two depths (1200 or 1300 mm), providing six size combinations. The deeper projection (1200–1300 mm versus 900–1100 mm on the standard version) provides greater weather coverage at the entrance. The longer 1200 mm tension rods accommodate the increased glass depth. The hardware finish is selectable from four options: satin stainless steel, or three RAL painted finishes — RAL 7016 (gray-anthracite), RAL 8019 (brown), and RAL 9005 MAT (matte black). The 12.76 mm glass is 66.2 laminated safety glass (two 6 mm tempered panes with 0.76 mm PVB interlayer). The glass requires a minimum ø22 mm hole for the fixing points.
Use cases:
- Deep-projection entrance canopy for residential front doors requiring extended weather coverage
- Building entrances where 900–1100 mm projection is insufficient
- Wider weather protection zone at doorways in exposed or wind-driven rain locations
- Ready-to-install deep canopy kit for 1200–1300 mm projection from the facade
- Facade-mounted deep glass canopy in painted RAL finish or satin stainless steel
FAQ
How does this differ from the 900–1100 version?
Both are 2-rod hanging canopies with the same widths (1400–1800 mm), glass specification (12.76 mm 66.2), and finish options. The differences are glass depth (1200–1300 mm versus 900–1100 mm), rod length (1200 mm versus 1000 mm), and number of depth options (2 versus 3). Choose the deeper version when more weather coverage at the entrance is needed.
What glass panel sizes are available?
Three widths: 1400, 1600, or 1800 mm. Two depths (projection from wall): 1200 or 1300 mm. Six size combinations.
What finishes are available?
Four options: satin stainless steel, RAL 7016 gray-anthracite, RAL 8019 brown, and RAL 9005 MAT matte black.
What is included in the kit?
The kit includes the 12.76 mm (66.2) laminated safety glass panel, two 1200 mm tension rods with turnbuckle adjustment, all wall fixings, glass fixings, and decorative wall plates in the selected finish.
What is the glass specification?
12.76 mm laminated safety glass (66.2): two 6 mm tempered panes with 0.76 mm PVB interlayer. Minimum ø22 mm hole at each fixing point.
How is the canopy installed?
Wall fixings are anchored to the building facade. Tension rods connect from the wall fixings to the glass panel fixings, suspending the glass at an angle. Turnbuckle mechanism allows tension adjustment. Professional installation is recommended.
About Hanging Glass Canopies
A hanging glass canopy is a wall-mounted entrance shelter in which stainless-steel tension rods suspend the glass panel from anchor points above, transferring load diagonally back to the building façade.
Strofix offers all the parts needed to build hanging canopy systems — the suspension rods, the fittings that hold the glass against the wall, the connectors that link the rods to both the glass and the wall, and complete system sets — all made in stainless steel with a satin finish.
Why choose hanging glass canopy? The benefits go beyond appearance. The canopy shelters the doorway from rain and snow, keeping visitors dry as they arrive and protecting the door and threshold from constant weather exposure, which extends their working life. Because the glass is clear, daylight still reaches the entrance, so the area underneath does not feel dark or enclosed. The slim rod suspension leaves the façade largely unobstructed, which is especially valuable on buildings with detailed brickwork, stonework, or architectural features worth preserving.
The correct component selection depends on canopy span, glass weight, environment and wall structure.
