The Strofix undersupported bracket for glass canopy 1200 is a stainless-steel structural bracket that supports a glass canopy panel from underneath, with a 1200 mm projection from the wall mounting face to the outer glass support point. Supplied in AISI 304 with a satin finish, for 10 mm, 12.76 mm, or 16.76 mm thick glass.
The bracket is manufactured from AISI 304 stainless steel with a satin surface finish, suited to interior and standard exterior architectural installations. It accepts 10 mm toughened glass, 12.76 mm laminated glass (66.2 configuration), and 16.76 mm laminated glass (88.2 configuration). Multiple brackets are installed along the wall to carry a full-length glass canopy — typically two for shorter spans and three or four for longer canopies, matched to the selected glass-panel length.
The satin finish reduces visible fingerprints and micro-scratches compared to a polished surface, giving a uniform matte appearance typical of commercial architectural hardware. The bracket is sold individually; wall anchors appropriate to the substrate must be selected and ordered separately.
The bracket accepts 10 mm toughened glass, 12.76 mm laminated glass (66.2 configuration), and 16.76 mm laminated glass (88.2 configuration). Glass outside these three thicknesses is not compatible with this SKU.
The projection from the wall mounting face to the outer glass support point is 1200 mm, so the glass canopy overhangs 1200 mm from the wall. The depth is fixed and not adjustable.
The number depends on the total canopy length. Paired with a 1200 mm-depth Strofix canopy glass, two brackets typically cover 1600–1800 mm, three brackets cover 1900–3000 mm, and four brackets cover 3100–3800 mm. Match the bracket quantity to the length band of the glass panel order.
This bracket is sized for a 1200 mm canopy depth and pairs with Strofix 66.2 ESG canopy glass ordered at the 1200 mm depth option (the "With holes" 66.2 ESG variant offers 1100, 1150, 1200, and 1300 mm depth choices). For a pre-matched assembly, Strofix also sells complete canopy kits (glass + brackets) under the Glass canopies › Under supported category.
The bracket fixes to solid structural walls — concrete, brick, or equivalent — using wall anchors matched to the substrate. Wall anchors are not included and must be specified separately. For cavity walls, timber-frame walls, or masonry requiring chemical anchors, confirm the anchor specification with a structural engineer before installation.
The bracket itself installs with standard masonry drilling tools and a torque wrench once the correct wall anchors are selected. Handling the glass panel that sits on the brackets requires at least two people using glass suction lifters, so most installations — especially longer canopies with three or four brackets — are simpler and safer with a professional glazier.
An under-supported glass canopy is a wall-mounted entrance shelter in which diagonal steel brackets carry the glass panel from below, transferring load from the canopy back to the building façade. The brackets project outward and downward from the wall, supporting the glass without any overhead tie-rods or hanging hardware, which makes this mounting style suited to entrances where a clean soffit and unobstructed overhead clearance are required.
Strofix supplies under-supported glass canopy brackets in S355 structural steel and stainless steel, with projection depths from 900 to 1300 mm, in black, anthracite and brown finishes. Complete canopy kits on 2, 3 or 4 supports are available with laminated toughened glass (66.2 or 88.2) in widths from 1400 to 3800 mm, and loose glass panels can be ordered separately with or without drilled holes.
Choosing the correct configuration depends on canopy width, projection depth, glass thickness and colour preference.
