The Strofix glass canopy on 4 supports 1200 is a complete undersupported glass canopy kit containing four AISI 304 stainless-steel brackets and a transparent glass panel, ready to install over wide entrances, shopfronts, and building frontages at a 1200 mm canopy depth. Available in three glass thicknesses (10 mm, 12.76 mm, or 16.76 mm) and three glass widths (2600, 2950, or 3300 mm).
Each kit includes four undersupported brackets in AISI 304 stainless steel with a satin finish, each projecting 1200 mm from the wall to the outer glass support point, plus a transparent glass panel in the selected thickness and width. Glass thickness options are 10 mm toughened, 12.76 mm laminated (66.2 configuration), and 16.76 mm laminated (88.2 configuration). The glass width determines the total canopy span along the wall. Glass depth is fixed at 1200 mm for all configurations, and the glass is transparent in all variants.
The satin-finished brackets reduce visible fingerprints and micro-scratches compared to polished stainless steel. Wall anchors for mounting the brackets to the substrate are not included and must be selected separately to match the wall material.
Four AISI 304 stainless-steel undersupported brackets with a satin finish (each with a 1200 mm projection) and one transparent glass panel at the selected thickness and width. Wall anchors for the brackets are not included and must be ordered separately based on the wall material.
Select 10 mm for standard toughened glass, 12.76 mm (66.2) for laminated safety glass, or 16.76 mm (88.2) for heavier-duty laminated glass. Thicker laminated panels add weight and impact resistance. The choice depends on the structural and safety requirements of the installation; consult a glass specialist or structural engineer if the project has specific load or safety-class requirements.
The width (2600, 2950, or 3300 mm) sets the total canopy span along the wall. Measure the area you need to shelter and select the closest matching option. For canopies narrower than 2600 mm, a 2-support or 3-support kit at the same 1200 mm depth is sufficient. This is the largest standard kit in the 1200 mm depth series; for spans exceeding 3300 mm, contact Strofix for a custom configuration.
The glass depth is fixed at 1200 mm on this SKU, meaning the canopy projects 1200 mm outward from the wall. The 1200 mm projection provides greater weather coverage than the 1000 mm depth kits. This depth cannot be changed at order time.
The brackets fix to solid structural walls — concrete, brick, or equivalent — using wall anchors matched to the substrate. Wall anchors are not included. The combination of a 1200 mm projection and four brackets distributing load across a wide span places significant bending forces on the wall fixings, so the substrate must be structurally sound along its full length. For cavity walls, timber-frame walls, or masonry requiring chemical anchors, confirm the anchor specification with a structural engineer before installation.
Bracket mounting requires standard masonry drilling tools and a torque wrench once the correct wall anchors are selected. Placing the glass panel onto four brackets at spans up to 3300 mm requires at least three people using glass suction lifters. Due to the size, weight, and depth of the glass at these dimensions, professional glazier involvement is strongly recommended.
An under-supported glass canopy is a wall-mounted entrance shelter in which diagonal steel brackets carry the glass panel from below, transferring load from the canopy back to the building façade. The brackets project outward and downward from the wall, supporting the glass without any overhead tie-rods or hanging hardware, which makes this mounting style suited to entrances where a clean soffit and unobstructed overhead clearance are required.
Strofix supplies under-supported glass canopy brackets in S355 structural steel and stainless steel, with projection depths from 900 to 1300 mm, in black, anthracite and brown finishes. Complete canopy kits on 2, 3 or 4 supports are available with laminated toughened glass (66.2 or 88.2) in widths from 1400 to 3800 mm, and loose glass panels can be ordered separately with or without drilled holes.
Choosing the correct configuration depends on canopy width, projection depth, glass thickness and colour preference.
