The Strofix D19 sign adaptor is a stainless-steel standoff fixing used to mount sign panels up to 10 mm thick onto flat surfaces in interior and protected exterior signage. Supplied in AISI 304 with a fixed 21.5 mm spacer and a satin finish.

Each adaptor secures the panel through a single Ø11 mm pre-drilled hole, and the Ø19 mm cover provides a clean, low-profile appearance for medium-format signs. The 21.5 mm spacer creates a defined shadow gap between the wall and the back of the panel, suitable for acrylic, glass, and aluminium composite sign sheets up to 10 mm thick. AISI 304 is the standard chromium-nickel stainless steel and provides reliable corrosion resistance for indoor signage and protected outdoor installations.

The satin finish reduces visible fingerprints and micro-scratches compared to polished stainless steel, giving a clean, neutral look that suits corporate, retail, and architectural signage.

Use cases:

  • Office, lobby, and reception nameplates and logo signs
  • Retail storefront and shop window sign panels
  • Wayfinding and directory boards in public and commercial buildings
  • Restaurant and café menu boards mounted as standoffs
  • Acrylic, glass, and composite panels for galleries and exhibitions
  • Door numbers, room signs, and interior information plates

FAQ:

What panel thickness does this sign adaptor support?

The D19 sign adaptor is suitable for sign panels up to 10 mm thick. This covers most acrylic, glass, aluminium composite, and dibond sign materials used for indoor and protected outdoor signage.

What size hole must be drilled in the panel?

A minimum Ø11 mm hole is required in the panel. For glass sign panels, the hole must be pre-drilled by the glass supplier before tempering, since toughened glass cannot be cut or drilled after heat treatment.

What stainless steel grade is used?

This SKU is supplied in AISI 304, the standard chromium-nickel stainless steel. AISI 304 provides reliable corrosion resistance for indoor signage and protected outdoor installations away from coastal or chloride-rich environments.

Is the spacer height adjustable?

No. The D19 sign adaptor ships with a fixed 21.5 mm spacer, which sets the standoff distance between the wall and the back of the panel. The spacer cannot be adjusted after installation.

How does the D19 differ from the smaller D12 and D16 sign adaptors?

The D19 has a Ø19 mm cover and supports panels up to 10 mm thick — a wider range than the D16 (3.6–4.6 mm panels) and a thicker capacity than the D12 (up to 8 mm). The D19 shares the same 21.5 mm spacer as the D12 but offers a larger, more visible cover for medium-format signs where a stronger visual presence is preferred.

Can I install it myself?

Yes. Installation needs only a drill with the correct bit for your wall material, a wall anchor matched to the substrate, and a pre-drilled sign panel. Glass panels should be handled with care and tightened gently to avoid cracking around the hole.

About glass adaptors

A glass adaptor is a stainless-steel point fixing that attaches a glass panel to a supporting structure through a drilled hole in the glass. It transfers load from the panel to the substrate while keeping visible hardware to a minimum, leaving the glass as the main visual element in balustrades, façades, partitions, canopies, and shower enclosures.

Strofix supplies round glass adaptors from Ø12 mm up to Ø70 mm (including D30, D38, D40, D50, D60 and D70) plus square 38×38 and 40×40 versions, in AISI 201, AISI 304 and AISI 316 stainless steel, with satin, polished or painted finishes and a broad range of spacer heights. The right adaptor depends on glass thickness, wall-to-glass offset, environment and the type of supporting surface.

Glass adaptors are essential components used to securely connect glass panels to supporting structures while maintaining a clean, modern appearance. They are widely applied in glass railings, partitions, façades, canopies, and other architectural systems where both stability and design matter. By creating a reliable fixing point between glass and metal or wall-mounted surfaces, glass adaptors help distribute load evenly and ensure structural safety without compromising transparency.
