The Strofix D12 sign adaptor is a stainless-steel standoff fixing used to mount sign panels up to 8 mm thick onto flat surfaces in interior and protected exterior signage. Available in AISI 201 or AISI 304 grade with a fixed 21.5 mm spacer and a satin finish.
Each adaptor secures the panel through a single Ø9 mm pre-drilled hole using an M8 screw, with a Ø12 mm cover that gives a discreet, low-profile appearance suited to small-format signs. AISI 304 is the standard chromium-nickel stainless steel recommended for general indoor and protected outdoor signage. AISI 201 substitutes part of the nickel with manganese, which lowers cost while keeping a similar appearance, and is best reserved for dry interior environments where corrosion exposure is minimal.
The satin finish reduces visible fingerprints and micro-scratches compared to polished stainless steel, giving a clean, neutral look that suits corporate, retail, and architectural signage.
The D12 sign adaptor is suitable for sign panels up to 8 mm thick. This covers most acrylic, glass, aluminium composite, and dibond sign materials used for indoor and protected outdoor signage.
A minimum Ø9 mm hole is required for the M8 fixing screw. For glass sign panels, the hole must be pre-drilled by the glass supplier before tempering, since toughened glass cannot be cut or drilled after heat treatment.
AISI 304 is the standard chromium-nickel stainless steel and offers better corrosion resistance, making it the safer choice for any installation that may see humidity or outdoor exposure. AISI 201 uses manganese in place of part of the nickel, which lowers the price and keeps a similar visual appearance, but its corrosion resistance is lower, so it is best limited to dry interior signage.
No. This SKU is supplied with a fixed 21.5 mm spacer, which sets the standoff distance between the wall and the back of the sign panel. The adaptor is not adjustable after installation.
The D12 is designed for flat surfaces only (mounting surface type: Flat). It can be installed on plasterboard, concrete, brick, or wood walls using wall anchors selected separately to match the substrate.
Yes. Installation needs only a drill with the correct bit for your wall material, a wall anchor matched to the substrate, and a pre-drilled sign panel. Glass panels should be handled with care and tightened gently to avoid cracking around the hole.
A glass adaptor is a stainless-steel point fixing that attaches a glass panel to a supporting structure through a drilled hole in the glass. It transfers load from the panel to the substrate while keeping visible hardware to a minimum, leaving the glass as the main visual element in balustrades, façades, partitions, canopies, and shower enclosures.
Strofix supplies round glass adaptors from Ø12 mm up to Ø70 mm (including D30, D38, D40, D50, D60 and D70) plus square 38×38 and 40×40 versions, in AISI 201, AISI 304 and AISI 316 stainless steel, with satin, polished or painted finishes and a broad range of spacer heights. The right adaptor depends on glass thickness, wall-to-glass offset, environment and the type of supporting surface.
Glass adaptors are essential components used to securely connect glass panels to supporting structures while maintaining a clean, modern appearance. They are widely applied in glass railings, partitions, façades, canopies, and other architectural systems where both stability and design matter. By creating a reliable fixing point between glass and metal or wall-mounted surfaces, glass adaptors help distribute load evenly and ensure structural safety without compromising transparency.
Strofix designs and supplies stainless-steel fastening systems for architectural glass, including glass adaptors, railing components, handrails, and structural fixings. We also serve architects, installers, and building contractors on residential and commercial projects.
