The Strofix D60 glass adaptor with threaded sleeve is a stainless-steel point fixing used to mount 8–21.52 mm glass panels close to flat surfaces in balustrades, façades, and architectural glazing, with an internally threaded sleeve that lets the installer adjust the standoff distance on site. Available in AISI 304 or AISI 316 grade with a fixed 8 mm spacer, satin finish, and a Ø60 mm cover retained by a visible face screw.
The 8 mm un-threaded spacer creates a minimal wall offset, while the integrated Ø20 × 30 mm sleeve carries the M10 internal thread that engages the M10 × 45 mm DIN 7991 stainless-steel countersunk screw. The threaded sleeve allows the installer to fine-tune the standoff during installation — useful for aligning multiple panels in a façade or compensating for substrate irregularities, even though the spacer itself is fixed at 8 mm. Each adaptor secures the glass through a single Ø14 mm pre-drilled hole, with a 13 mm inner bushing diameter, and the Ø60 mm cover gives the fixing a substantial visual presence suited to feature glazing. AISI 304 suits interior and standard exterior installations; AISI 316 contains added molybdenum for higher resistance to chlorides and salt air, making it the correct choice for coastal and high-humidity environments.
The satin finish reduces visible fingerprints and micro-scratches compared to polished stainless steel and suits architectural glazing where a clean, neutral look is required.
The D60 is suitable for glass panels from 8 mm to 21.52 mm thick, covering standard toughened glass and thicker structural laminated glass buildups used in façades, canopies, and heavy-duty balustrades.
The Ø20 × 30 mm sleeve carries an internal M10 thread that engages the M10 × 45 mm screw. The sleeve allows the installer to fine-tune the standoff distance on site by rotating the fixing — useful for aligning multiple panels along a façade or compensating for small substrate irregularities, even though the 8 mm spacer itself is a fixed component.
Both versions use a Ø60 mm cover, an 8 mm spacer, and an M10 × 45 mm DIN 7991 screw on 8–21.52 mm glass with a Ø14 mm hole. The difference is the spacer hole type: the standard D60 has an un-threaded spacer; this variant adds an M10 internal thread in the integrated sleeve, allowing on-site adjustment of the standoff. Choose this SKU when alignment tolerances are tight or wall flatness is uncertain.
A minimum Ø14 mm hole is required in the glass. The adaptor uses a 13 mm inner bushing diameter for the M10 screw. The hole must be pre-drilled by the glass supplier before tempering — toughened glass cannot be cut or drilled after heat treatment.
AISI 316 contains molybdenum, which provides higher resistance to chlorides and salt air. Specify AISI 316 for coastal, pool, and high-humidity installations. AISI 304 is sufficient for interior use and standard outdoor conditions inland.
Yes, with basic tools: a drill with the correct bit for your wall material, a torque wrench, an M10-rated wall anchor matched to the substrate, and pre-drilled glass. Once the wall anchor is set, the threaded sleeve can be rotated to fine-tune the standoff before the cover screw is tightened. Thick laminated glass panels should be handled with two people.
A glass adaptor is a stainless-steel point fixing that attaches a glass panel to a supporting structure through a drilled hole in the glass. It transfers load from the panel to the substrate while keeping visible hardware to a minimum, leaving the glass as the main visual element in balustrades, façades, partitions, canopies, and shower enclosures.
Strofix supplies round glass adaptors from Ø12 mm up to Ø70 mm (including D30, D38, D40, D50, D60 and D70) plus square 38×38 and 40×40 versions, in AISI 201, AISI 304 and AISI 316 stainless steel, with satin, polished or painted finishes and a broad range of spacer heights. The right adaptor depends on glass thickness, wall-to-glass offset, environment and the type of supporting surface.
Glass adaptors are essential components used to securely connect glass panels to supporting structures while maintaining a clean, modern appearance. They are widely applied in glass railings, partitions, façades, canopies, and other architectural systems where both stability and design matter. By creating a reliable fixing point between glass and metal or wall-mounted surfaces, glass adaptors help distribute load evenly and ensure structural safety without compromising transparency.
Strofix designs and supplies stainless-steel fastening systems for architectural glass, including glass adaptors, railing components, handrails, and structural fixings. We also serve architects, installers, and building contractors on residential and commercial projects.
