About Rod Railing Posts

A rod railing post is a stainless-steel vertical upright designed to carry horizontal rod crossbars between posts, forming a balustrade with an open, linear infill. The rods pass through pre-drilled holes or fittings in the post, and a handrail sits on top, creating a lightweight barrier that maintains visibility while providing fall protection on balconies, terraces, mezzanines and staircases.

Strofix supplies rod railing post systems in four configurations — flat surface with flat (40×40 mm) post, flat surface with round (Ø42.4 mm) post, stairs with flat post, and stairs with round post — all in AISI 304 or AISI 316 stainless steel with a satin finish.

A standard fitting accessory for the rod-to-post connection is also available separately. The correct system depends on installation surface (flat or stairs), post profile (flat or round) and the required steel grade.
