The Strofix glass holder with rod (16 × 320 mm) is an AISI 316 stainless-steel French balcony fitting used to secure 6, 8, 10, or 12 mm glass panels to a building structure through a Ø16 mm anchor rod with 320 mm embedment depth. Supplied in satin finish with a 50 × 60 mm holder body and M8 thread.
Each glass holder clamps the glass panel within the 50 × 60 mm body and transfers the load through the Ø16 × 320 mm steel anchor rod into the wall or floor slab. The M8 fastener secures the glass inside the holder. Glass thickness is the only selectable variant on this SKU — choose 6, 8, 10, or 12 mm to match the glass panel specified for the project. AISI 316 stainless steel contains molybdenum, providing higher resistance to chlorides and salt air compared to AISI 304.
The satin finish reduces visible fingerprints and micro-scratches compared to polished stainless steel, maintaining a clean appearance on exposed French balcony fittings.
This glass holder is available in four glass thickness variants: 6, 8, 10, and 12 mm. Select the correct variant at order time to match the glass panel thickness specified for the project.
The anchor rod is Ø16 mm in diameter and 320 mm long. The rod is embedded into the wall or floor structure to provide structural anchorage for the glass holder.
The glass holder body measures 50 × 60 mm. This is the visible face of the fitting that contacts the glass panel surface.
This glass holder is manufactured from AISI 316 stainless steel with a satin finish. AISI 316 contains molybdenum, which provides higher resistance to chlorides and salt air than AISI 304, making it suitable for both interior and exterior French balcony installations.
The glass holder uses an M8 fastener to secure the glass panel within the 50 × 60 mm body. The M8 thread size is fixed on this SKU.
Installation requires drilling into the wall or floor slab to accommodate the Ø16 × 320 mm anchor rod, which typically involves concrete, brick, or solid masonry. Correct embedment depth and alignment are critical for structural safety. Professional installation is recommended for French balcony glass barriers.
A French balcony is a glass barrier fixed directly to the building façade at a full-height window or door opening, providing fall protection without a projecting balcony slab. The glass panel is held in place by stainless-steel glass holders with integrated rods that anchor into the wall, creating a flush, minimal-hardware guardrail that preserves the open view and natural light.
Strofix supplies French balcony components in two rod sizes — Ø16 × 320 mm and Ø20 × 320 mm — in AISI 304 or AISI 316 stainless steel, with glass holders covering spacer heights from 4 to 30 mm and glass thicknesses from 6 to 12 mm.Individual glass holders and a complete component set (with left, right and bracket pieces) are available.
The correct configuration depends on glass thickness, required spacer height, rod diameter and whether the project needs individual parts or a full set.
Strofix designs and supplies stainless-steel fastening systems for architectural glass, including glass adaptors, railing components, handrails, and structural fixings. We also serve architects, installers, and building contractors on residential and commercial projects.
