The Strofix cover is a stainless-steel decorative base plate designed to conceal floor-mounting hardware at the base of 40 × 40 mm square railing posts. The cover plate measures 108 × 108 mm, with a 25 mm height and 1.5 mm wall thickness. Available in AISI 304 (satin or polished) and AISI 316 (satin only).

The cover slides over the 40 × 40 mm post and sits flat on the floor surface, hiding the anchors, bolts, and rough floor penetration beneath. The 108 × 108 mm plate provides sufficient coverage to conceal standard base mounting hardware while maintaining a clean, finished appearance. The 25 mm height and 1.5 mm wall thickness keep the cover low-profile and unobtrusive. Surface finish and steel grade are selected independently at order time, but note that AISI 316 is available in satin only — a polished finish is not offered for the AISI 316 variant.

The satin finish matches other Strofix satin-finished railing components. The polished finish (AISI 304 only) provides a mirror-like appearance for high-gloss installations.

What post size does this cover fit?

The cover fits 40 × 40 mm square posts and tubes. The central opening slides over the post profile. It is not suitable for round posts — see the round cover variants in the Strofix Covers range for Ø42.4 or Ø48.3 mm tubes.

The cover plate measures 108 × 108 mm (D) with a 25 mm height (H) and 1.5 mm wall thickness (t).

Which finish and grade combinations are available?

Three combinations are available: AISI 304 satin, AISI 304 polish, and AISI 316 satin. AISI 316 is not available in polished finish on this SKU. Select both finish and grade in the dropdowns at order time.

When should I choose AISI 316?

AISI 316 contains molybdenum for higher resistance to chlorides and salt air. Specify AISI 316 for coastal, pool, and high-humidity installations. For standard inland interior and exterior applications, AISI 304 is sufficient.

Is the cover purely decorative?

Yes. The cover is a cosmetic finishing component that conceals the mounting hardware at the post base. It does not provide structural support. The railing post is secured independently through its own base anchoring system.

Is this cover compatible with the Strofix 40 × 40 mm square tube?

Yes. The cover is designed to fit over the Strofix 40 × 40 × 2 mm square tube and the side-mount square spigot base (40 × 40 mm), covering the floor-level fixing area.

A cover is a stainless-steel decorative plate that fits around the base of a railing post where it meets the floor, deck or fascia, concealing the anchor bolt, base plate and raw fixing beneath a clean, finished disc or square.

It slides over the post tube before or after installation and sits flat against the mounting surface, giving the post base a professional appearance.

Strofix supplies base covers in seven variants — round covers in Ø85, Ø95 and Ø105 mm diameters for Ø42.4 and Ø48.3 mm round pipe posts, and square covers in 85×85, 90×90, 105×105 and 108×108 mm for flat-sided posts — in AISI 304 or AISI 316 stainless steel with satin or polished finishes and heights of 18 or 20 mm.

The correct cover depends on post shape and diameter, the desired cover size and the required steel grade.
