The Strofix cover is an AISI 304 stainless-steel decorative base plate designed to conceal floor-mounting hardware at the base of 40 × 40 mm square railing posts. Available in three plate sizes — 85 × 85, 90 × 90, or 105 × 105 mm — with satin or polished finish. The plate size is selected in the dropdown at order time.

Each plate size has its own height and wall thickness. The 85 × 85 mm variant has an 18 mm height and 1.5 mm wall thickness. The 90 × 90 mm and 105 × 105 mm variants have a 20 mm height and 1 mm wall thickness. Polished finish is available for the 85 × 85 and 90 × 90 mm sizes; the 105 × 105 mm size is available in satin only. The cover slides over the 40 × 40 mm post and sits flat on the floor surface, hiding the anchors, bolts, and rough floor penetration beneath. AISI 304 stainless steel is used across all variants.

The satin finish matches other Strofix satin-finished railing components. The polished finish provides a mirror-like appearance for high-gloss installations.

What post size does this cover fit?

The cover fits 40 × 40 mm square posts and tubes. The central opening slides over the post profile. It is not suitable for round posts.

What plate sizes are available?

Three plate sizes are available: 85 × 85 mm, 90 × 90 mm, and 105 × 105 mm. Select the size that provides the desired base coverage for the specific installation. Larger plates conceal more of the floor area around the post base.

What are the dimensions for each plate size?

The 85 × 85 mm variant: H = 18 mm, t = 1.5 mm. The 90 × 90 mm variant: H = 20 mm, t = 1 mm. The 105 × 105 mm variant: H = 20 mm, t = 1 mm. Height and wall thickness are linked to the plate size.

Which finish options are available for each size?

The 85 × 85 mm and 90 × 90 mm sizes are available in satin or polished finish. The 105 × 105 mm size is available in satin only — polished finish is not offered for this size.

How does this differ from the 108 × 108 mm cover?

Both covers fit the same 40 × 40 mm square post. The 108 × 108 mm cover (separate SKU) has a 25 mm height and 1.5 mm wall thickness, and is also available in AISI 316. This SKU offers smaller plate sizes (85–105 mm) in AISI 304 only. Choose based on the plate coverage needed and whether AISI 316 is required.

Is the cover purely decorative?

Yes. The cover is a cosmetic finishing component that conceals the mounting hardware at the post base. It does not provide structural support.

About Covers

A cover is a stainless-steel decorative plate that fits around the base of a railing post where it meets the floor, deck or fascia, concealing the anchor bolt, base plate and raw fixing beneath a clean, finished disc or square.

It slides over the post tube before or after installation and sits flat against the mounting surface, giving the post base a professional appearance.

Strofix supplies base covers in seven variants — round covers in Ø85, Ø95 and Ø105 mm diameters for Ø42.4 and Ø48.3 mm round pipe posts, and square covers in 85×85, 90×90, 105×105 and 108×108 mm for flat-sided posts — in AISI 304 or AISI 316 stainless steel with satin or polished finishes and heights of 18 or 20 mm.

The correct cover depends on post shape and diameter, the desired cover size and the required steel grade.
