The Strofix glass adaptor gasket D40 silicone is a silicone sealing ring designed for use in Strofix D40 glass adaptor assemblies, placed between the stainless-steel cover or distancer and the glass panel surface. Manufactured from silicone rubber, Ø 38 mm outer diameter, Ø 10.2 mm internal hole, 2 mm thick. The gasket is a flat type without a flange.
The gasket cushions the contact between the metal adaptor components and the glass, preventing direct metal-to-glass contact that could cause stress cracks or scratches. Silicone offers high flexibility and maintains its elastic properties across a wide temperature range, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations. Two gaskets are typically required per adaptor point — one on each side of the glass panel. The gasket is sold individually.
The Ø 10.2 mm internal hole is sized for M10 screws or studs to pass through. The gasket is sized for D40 glass adaptors (Ø 40 mm cover, Ø 38 mm gasket body).
The gasket sits between the stainless-steel adaptor component (cover or distancer) and the glass panel in a Strofix D40 point fixing assembly. It prevents direct metal-to-glass contact, cushions clamping pressure, and provides a seal. Two gaskets are typically used per fixing point — one on each side of the glass.
Two differences: the material is silicone instead of EPDM, and the internal hole diameter is Ø 10.2 mm (sized for M10 screws) instead of Ø 8.2 mm (sized for M8 screws) on the EPDM D40 gasket. Verify the screw size used in the D40 adaptor assembly before choosing between the two gaskets — they are not interchangeable if the screw size differs.
The internal hole is fixed at Ø 10.2 mm on this SKU, sized for M10 screws or studs. There is no selectable hole-size option.
Silicone rubber. Silicone is flexible, maintains its elastic properties over a wide temperature range, and is resistant to UV degradation and ageing.
This gasket is sized for the Strofix D40 glass adaptor range (Ø 40 mm cover, Ø 38 mm gasket body) that uses M10 screws. It is not compatible with D30, D50, or other adaptor sizes.
Silicone gaskets maintain their sealing properties over many years under normal conditions. Replacement is recommended if the gasket shows visible compression set, tearing, or no longer provides a seal against water ingress.
A glass adaptor gasket is a rubber or silicone washer that sits between the metal adaptor body and the glass surface, preventing direct steel-to-glass contact. It cushions the clamping force, compensates for minor surface irregularities and protects the glass edge around the drilled hole from chipping or stress cracking under load.
Strofix supplies glass adaptor gaskets in six sizes — D30, D40, 40×40, D50, D60 and D70 — in two materials: EPDM rubber and silicone. Both flat gaskets and gaskets with an integrated flange are available; flanged variants provide additional coverage around the hole perimeter.
The correct gasket depends on the adaptor diameter, the required material and whether a flanged or flat profile is needed for the assembly.
