The Strofix elbow adjustable for slot handrail 42,4mm, Satin, Upper is an AISI 304 stainless-steel adjustable flush elbow for the Ø42.4 mm slot (glass-top) handrail profile. It joins two handrail sections at a variable angle, adjustable across a 0–70° range, giving a smooth flush joint where the rail changes pitch. Satin finish.

An adjustable elbow lets the handrail follow a change of pitch — most often at the top or bottom of a staircase, where the raking rail meets a level rail or a landing. This is the "Upper" version for the Ø42.4 mm oval (D-shaped) handrail, with a 0–70° adjustment range. The flush design keeps the joint smooth and continuous along the handrail surface. It is the round-profile counterpart to the 40 × 40 mm slot handrail adjustable elbow, and is used with the Ø42.4 mm handrail profile in a glass-top handrail system.

Use cases:

  • Joining two Ø42.4 mm slot handrail sections at a variable angle
  • Upper pitch transition at the top of a staircase handrail
  • Smooth flush angle where a raking rail meets a level rail
  • Adjustable 0–70° handrail joint on a glass-top balustrade
  • Stainless-steel adjustable flush elbow for Ø42.4 slot handrail

About French Balconies

A French balcony is a glass barrier fixed directly to the building façade at a full-height window or door opening, providing fall protection without a projecting balcony slab. The glass panel is held in place by stainless-steel glass holders with integrated rods that anchor into the wall, creating a flush, minimal-hardware guardrail that preserves the open view and natural light.

Strofix supplies French balcony components in two rod sizes — Ø16 × 320 mm and Ø20 × 320 mm — in AISI 304 or AISI 316 stainless steel, with glass holders covering spacer heights from 4 to 30 mm and glass thicknesses from 6 to 12 mm.Individual glass holders and a complete component set (with left, right and bracket pieces) are available.

The correct configuration depends on glass thickness, required spacer height, rod diameter and whether the project needs individual parts or a full set.
