The Strofix set screw M10×50 is an AISI 304 (A2) stainless-steel headless threaded stud with an M10 thread along its full 50 mm length. It has a satin finish.

A set screw has no head – it is threaded at both ends, so it joins two threaded parts or turns an M10 threaded hole into a protruding stud. One end is screwed into an M10 anchor sleeve, threaded insert or tapped hole; the protruding end receives a washer and nut that clamp the component in place. This differs from the M10×45 DIN 912 screw, whose socket head bears directly on the component. The M10 thread matches Strofix base plates with Ø11 mm bolt holes, such as the Ø100 mm round tube base plate and the 100 × 100 mm square tube base plates. AISI 304 (A2 grade) stainless steel provides corrosion resistance for both interior and exterior installations.

What are the set screw dimensions?

The set screw has an M10 thread and 50 mm overall length (M10×50 mm). It is threaded along its full length and has no head.

How does it differ from the M10×45 screw?

The M10×45 is a DIN 912 hex socket cap screw – its head clamps the component and it is tightened with an Allen key. The M10×50 set screw has no head: one end goes into a threaded hole or anchor sleeve, the other carries a washer and nut. Choose the set screw when the component must be fitted over a stud and secured from the front with a nut.

How is a headless set screw tightened?

Screw it into the threaded hole by hand, then lock two M10 nuts against each other on the protruding end and turn the upper nut with a spanner. Remove the nuts, fit the component, washer and nut, and tighten.

Which nuts and washers fit?

Any M10 nut and washer. Strofix supplies an M10 washer and an M10 cup nut in AISI 304, so the whole connection stays in A2 stainless steel.
