The Strofix adjustable flush elbow (0°–70°) is an AISI 304 stainless-steel variable-angle connector for the Ø42.4 × 2 mm railing tube, with an adjustment range of 0° to 70°. The elbow has a 27.5 mm height (H) and is supplied in satin finish. Attached using adhesive (elements for pasting included).

The 0°–70° adjustment range covers acute and shallow angles — the angular complement to the 90°–180° adjustable flush elbows in the Strofix range. This makes it the correct product for staircase handrail transitions where the handrail angles downward from a level landing to a descending flight. Typical staircase pitch angles (20°–45°) fall within this range. The "flush" design encloses the tube ends internally, creating a smooth external surface with no visible hardware. Once the desired angle is set, the elbow is secured with the included adhesive. AISI 304 stainless steel is suitable for standard interior and exterior installations.

The satin finish provides a uniform appearance that matches other Strofix satin-finished railing and handrail components.

Use cases:

  • Staircase handrail transitions where the handrail angles downward from a landing
  • Acute-angle handrail connections between level and sloping sections
  • Ramp handrail transitions at shallow inclines (0°–70°)
  • Any Ø42.4 mm tube joint requiring an angle below 90°
  • Complementing the 90°–180° adjustable elbows for full angular coverage

FAQ:

What is the angle adjustment range?

The elbow adjusts from 0° to 70°. This covers acute and shallow angles — typically the downward transition from a horizontal landing to a sloping staircase flight.

How does this differ from the 90°–180° adjustable flush elbows?

The 90°–180° elbows cover obtuse angles and straight-line continuations. This 0°–70° elbow covers acute and shallow angles. Together, the two ranges provide nearly full angular coverage for staircase handrail installations: the 0°–70° for the downward transition and the 90°–180° for the upward transition at the other end.

What tube does this elbow fit?

The elbow fits the Ø42.4 × 2 mm round tube — the standard railing pipe in the Strofix product range.

What is the elbow height?

The elbow has a 27.5 mm height (H = 27.5 mm), similar to the 90°–180° low-profile adjustable elbow (H = 27 mm).

How is the elbow attached?

The elbow is secured using adhesive (pasting). Set the two tubes to the desired angle inside the elbow body, then apply the adhesive. The Strofix anaerobic glue (50 mL) is the recommended adhesive.

What steel grade and finish is used?

AISI 304 stainless steel with a satin finish. AISI 304 is suitable for standard interior and exterior installations.

About Elbows & Connectors

Elbows and connectors are stainless-steel joint fittings that link two sections of handrail or railing tube at a change of direction, creating a continuous, seamless-looking rail line around corners, up staircases and across straight joints. Flush elbows and angles slip over the tube ends and produce a smooth, weld-free joint on the visible surface; welding variants are permanently fused for a rigid connection.

Strofix supplies 15 elbow and connector products for Ø42.4 mm round pipe and 40×40 mm flat square tube, including fixed 90° flush angles, adjustable flush elbows (with one variant covering 0–70°), cross flush angles, tee ("T") connectors, tee corner connectors, inline fittings and welding flush angles — all in AISI 304 stainless steel with a satin finish, with AISI 316 and polished options on selected variants.

The correct fitting depends on tube profile, the angle of the direction change, the number of tube arms meeting at the joint and whether a screwable or welded connection is required.
